How about a little witch hunting this winter? I mean a proper Witch not a witch hazel. Not much going in the gardens at this moment so why don’t you join me for a little walk in Wales?
Right at my doorstep there is a Brecon Monmouth Canal. The gossip is there is a Witch living there;-)

There is a book – what does it say?
‘Our story starts many, many years ago during the year of the great storm. There lived in these very woods a wizard called Gore’.

I always think is sad that elderly women are depicted as evil in this way. Most children's books depict them as bad tempered and to be avoided. They are mostly kind, smiling, and only too anxious to help.
Sorry to moan, but please tell the scultor to upgrade his ideas and set up a display of happy ladies - like they all are on GoY !
