One day I noticed a strange looking small flower among my succulents. Did not pay much attention to it, I forgot. After three days – the same flower in the same position. Bending on my knees I observed the flower and realised it is snail with his caravan.
Let him be. But the other day I had the same view…
I was tolerant to temptation to shake the stem as I am also tourist and hiker and thought this guy in caravan just likes extraordinary places. Some extravagancy is always a pepper of our boring lives. Friend of mine (from GOY) indoctrinated my mind with another obsession. She wrote to me “what if he is dead?” My God, I thought, another cadaver in my small garden? So I took things in my hands. When I arrived I did not see anything suspicious. At the first sight everything was on its place, quiet. Just miniature caravan parking on the top of the stem. In the same position.

I have another explanation now. The shell ( or caravan) was already empty and must have been some time on the ground when the stem started to grow. Ánd because the shell was very light, it grows up with the stem. My theory.

Anyway, I am curious, where do snails disappear. Do you think they decompose or they just abandon their "house"?

Will have to ggogle that one Katarina, I only find empty shells. Although sometimes I find a dried snail in them, then maybe they just fall out!!?
