Return of the robin...or two.

I took today off and spent some time doing a few chores..although Eve and I did potter around the back garden for a little bit. I was pleased to see a couple of robins darting about on the bund!!! I managed to catch one of them swooping down to the seed feeder a few times.
Eve didn’t seem fussed, she decided to climb up the side of one of the log sheds, by way of her new ‘oak’ steps added by OH. She seemed happy on the roof while I took MANY pics of the little red breasted bird..

Thank you, Eileen, lovely of you to say.
Yes, it’s cheering isn’t it, to see them flitting around! They really brighten up your day, especially as they are so friendly.

What lovely photos of your gardening friend Kate, he looks as if he was enjoying being the centre of attention!
What a good idea, Eve having her own oak steps you could say she has a birds eye view now..:))

Thank you Paul, much appreciated!!! Yes!!! The robin was doing a sort of ‘ stretchy neck ‘ what’s going on here?
Think the click of the camera was intriguing him!!!

Aw thanks, Janey, I was pretty pleased to be in the right spot today...I just kept clicking!
I do like your play on words! Yes, she is one spoilt cat!!!!

so colorful aren't they and here comes Eve to let them know who's in charge, lol

Lovely photos Kate, thanks for showing them to us, & your pretty cat.

I'm glad Eve wasn't interested in the robin, she's lovely :) Those steps look handy for her :)

Wonderful photos again, Kate. We have a robin who spends his time flitting and singing from front to back garden. My photography skills aren't quick enough to catch him.
Lucky Eve with her own steps. She wouldn't have OH under her paw by any chance, would she? Clever how they manage that. Full of guile.

Lovely photo's Kate, the robins and blackbirds are my all time favourites, they get to be so tame and soon appear when we're gardening, I like it when they sit and sing to me, they also come to our patio doors peering in if I haven't put their treats out..

Robins always look cheery in the depth of winter, try not to laugh but many years back I Was walking round this lady’s garden in early December when a Robin appeared she said they only come out at Xmas then hybernate, I tried to explain to her that they were always here, but she was having none of it, a real banging your head against a wall moment, yes I have to agree with that old saying nowt as queer as folk.

Three excellent photos which really celebrate the robin. Really lovely.

Paul, they always add a bit of colour to the winter garden! Eve loves to feel all confident and in charge of her domain - only if someone is with her, backing her up!!!! ☺️
Thank you Julia! Yes, I think he’s heard or spotted something to perk his interest! Freezing fog! Horrible weather, I hate driving in it - my hands are superglued to the wheel and my heart is racing usually!
Thank Josee, for your very lovely message!
Hywel, I was pleased too - to be honest, she more interested in looking for mice - thankfully!!! Yes, she’s enjoying her newly fitted steps, much easier to navigate the shed roof!
Thank you kindly, Ange! They are great little birds aren’t they! I think we all enjoy their flitting around the garden don’t we! Plus they seem so people friendly, which is lovely.
Eve definitely is spoilt by OH!!!! He’s made her several items, from play things to scratch posts etc. He also pops home from his office every lunchtime to spend some time with her - big softie!
Lesley, I can imagine it’s lovely to sit and listen and watch your robins - pics are just an extra! Yes, I thought Eve was very much like Levi! Thank you for your lovely message!
Thanks Sue! I have to agree, the blackbirds and robins are my faves too, especially the male blackbirds. I love their bright yellow beaks. It’s lovely to hear they are so friendly with you and come seeking you out for their titbits!!!
Julien, sorry - I did chuckle!!! That is so funny, but, I’m pretty sure people do believe it, especially when they are depicted on Christmas cards as a Christmas bird!
I can imagine she was having none of it!!! You’re right, people can be strange...I’ll remember that one!!😆
Thanks Chris, very much appreciated! Very kind! ☺️

Robins are such cheerful birds and always give me a lift when I hear or see one. Good photos, Kate.
If I still had cats I'd be accidentally shooing the birds away as I tried to divert my cats elsewhere. Mine were semi-feral and demons for catching anything. One day my female came home with two unfledged baby jays in her mouth. Horified I knew that even if I could find the nest it wouldn't do any good so I had to despatch them. Horrible.

Thank you Sheila! That’s kind of you - I’m pleased they mage you smile. 😊

Hi Arbuthnot, I agree with you, they are such cheerful birds aren’t they! That do seem to raise the spirits, especially as they are so people friendly.
I know what you mean about having cats, it’s that instinct thing they have and they don’t know any different, bless! Eve doesn’t bother much, although she isn’t keen on wood pigeons. She doesn’t like them near her steps! 😁. I dread to think of her dragging one through her cat flap - they are almost the same size!!! 😆

You are right to dread it Kate. A determined cat can make one pigeon go a very long way when she/he dismantles it.

Love your photos of the robins. They really help cheer us up.

Fingers crossed, Sue, that day will never come!!!

Glad Eve isn't bothered by them, she is a pretty cat.
