Just a few of my ferns, some unfurling nicely and others preparing to.
My two tree ferns are still ‘sleeping’ at the moment, hopefully they’ll spring in to action soon!

You can't be cross with new fern fronds can you? What a joy they are.

I would like to grow more ferns but they're not keen on our garden. Yours are attractive specimens.

Think you already know I'm also a fern lover, they are magical, its fascinating to watch them opening, I have trimmed a couple of mine back already, never had a tree fern but do like them....

Thanks Eileen, I’m glad you reminded me of the name! I couldn’t recall when I posted.
I love to trim of the old tatty fronds and see the new croziers unfurling artistically.

Very true, I must agree, Sue - they are wonderful to watch as they come to life again!

Thank you, Paul. I’ve trimmed some of it, not much though, as I do like it’s carpeting effect amongst the rockery plants.

Thank you Ange!! I’m pleased you like my collection. I’ve a few more which have been unfurling quite nicely. It’s a pity you aren’t able to grow them successfully as you’d like..would they do well in pots perhaps? Saying that…more pots!!!!!

I do know you’re a firm fern lover, Sue! You’re words are perfect to describe them, they are so magical… I just hope my two tree ferns are ok this year, just a bit slow to get going..

I love the way ferns unfurl. The frond is called a crozier as it starts to unfurl. They are very architectural aren't they? Need to get in and cut some of the old ones off before the new ones strat.
