Bank Holiday at home.

We pottered and tidied and idled the day away.
This morning we started with sitting out, feet up and enjoying the warm sunshine.
After lunch there was some cloud, but it was still calm and pleasant. Sunshine appeared again later in the afternoon, in time for OH to get the lawnmower out.
It was nice to mooch about before going back to work tomorrow.
We enjoyed Sunday out and about, it’s been a pretty nice long weekend weatherwise.
Plus, Saturday evening, the last episode of Bettany Hughes on Channel 4, she does the most fantastic series’.
Hope everyone is enjoying the week.
One if the 2 Tree Ferns.
3 Nemesia I bought yesterday. For their scent and long flowering.
First Geranium flower to open. Raven.
Can’t remember the name, I’d have to check.
Campanula showing many little buds. Usually gets decimated on the rockery.
One of OH"s 13 alliums ready to pop.
My favourite Aquilegia
One end of our 12 foot wide Ceanothus. The other end isn’t as bushy.
A little Armeria. You can see how steep the top of the rockery is here.
OH was tending to his grass this afternoon. Starting at the top end.
Was tempted yesterday, but, decided it had nowhere to go!!!!

I loved your remark about the fledgling lavender ;-)
Yours are just the sort of blogs to tempt me back into goy, not visited for a long time. Beautiful photos..

Thank you. Callie. I'm happy to hear you like the tree fern! They seem to do well here, thankfully! It sounds like you've really enjoyed being in your garden this weekend, it's so good for the mind and the soul! Look forward to seeing your pics!

A nice way to spend some time, I'm glad you enjoyed your day. Lovely photos too :)
I like Bettany Hughes's programms, they are very interesting and she's an easy person to listen to.

That sounds like a lovely relaxing weekend to me, we were very lucky with the weather as well, I pottered around my garden also, don't like to go out on bank holidays Kate, too many people around for me, if there are going to be crowds about I steer clear and head in the opposite direction or stay home... I do like your tree fern, love all ferns, never had a tree fern though I've been tempted, I worry enough about protecting my acers and succulents without adding one of those to the list, lol....
Lovely blog and photo's Kate...x

Can't beat a good mooch in the garden Kate, especially if the sun is out, don't know if that second one down is Astrantia, if so a lot earlier flowering, then mine, strange how things are different throughout the country

Thank you, Hywel! It's been such a good week all round hasn't it!
I'm with you, Bettany Hughes is a fantastic historian/TV presenter. She really makes her programmes come alive.

Thank you, Sue, I appreciate your message. Hope you are keeping well?
I know what you mean, when you say you stay clear of crowds on Bank Holidays..it can be quite overwhelming. Every man, woman, child and dog seem to be out and about!!!!
I'm pleased you like the tree ferns, we were quite reticent to buy them at the time, so expensive. But, we did and they do well, thank heavens! It could have been a risky buy.
We do have several other ferns, I think they do well here, so we went with more.
Hope you're enjoying the sunshine 🌞

Thank you, Davey, great minds!!! Definitely great to be out there mooching on a warm day. Its therapy for us all, and puts a big smile on our faces!
Astrantia, thanks Davey. I forgot to look in the shed for the label!
You're right about things flowering early in different parts of a smallish country! It's odd. Digressing slightly, I was training a new chap onto dialysis this week and we chatted about all the different accents, all interesting, in such a small-ish island(s). Fascinating!

I don't know how I missed this blog Kate.
Your garden looks amazing and I love that Nemesia.
My garden is slow to flower at the moment but my roses are all blooming.

That’s ok, Rose! I miss things and catch up myself. We’re out enjoying our gardens now - especially as the weather is so much better!
I’m loving Nemesia, I’ve a few now. Really for the scent and long flowering period. Thanks so much for your lovely message. I’m envious your roses are all blooming! :-)
Mine are all still in tight bud
Hope you are keeping well x

Wonderful blog, Kate, and lovely photos. I had a similar Aquilegia - not surprised it's your favourite with two delicate colours together!
