The Husband Fishing

As promised the fishing photos!

When I took this photo we had just arrived on the pier at West Bay. It was a little windy but we were wrapped up against the cold and I for one am not a chilly soul.

When I took this one however I was absolutely freezing. I had sat there for over two hours and was bored silly, the wind was whipping through my fleece, cagoule and hooded sweatshirt. I decided I just had to go back to the caravan while I was still able to walk leaving the husband behind with orders to “bring back some fish and chips I`m no cooking tonight!” There was a comment on my last blog about fishing being as exciting as watching paint dry, wrong….its much worse…lol! Especially when he didn`t catch anything all evening…men!

Thankfully I don`t accompany him on his little jaunts but this was taken last week somewhere in Northamptonshire, Drayton reservoir I think it`s called.

I know how you feel my x boyfriend use to go sea fishing, I amused my self cracking jokes, eg little weeeeed, he too could not catch any thing but the weed from the sea. I told him if he catches one, I will push him in off the key and then sitting bored all that time, would find it was worth it watching him try to get out of the sea he he.

At least you had a caravan to go back to. I have sat in the car by the side of a lake up in the welsh hills with nothing but sheep and scenery. The scenery is lovely but there is a limit. You can't walk too far in case they have had enough and want to move to another spot. It is totally mind-numbing made even worse when you can't get any reception on the car radio and have forgotten to take a book. Moan over LoL

If you cant beat them join them like my sisters twins did with their husbands with playing golf, they won all the top golfers, plus the husbands, so in embarassement they now go to the pub while my sisters are playing the golf lol

Oh dear . I don't wonder you went back to the caravan. I don't think I could have stayed that long. I would have been bored out of my mind lol

supporting someone fishing is deadly - anyone who wishes to sit for hours just in case a fish comes along should not put other poor souls through it too!

I have never supported the opposite sex playing sport since my husband broke his leg playing rugby, leaving me with 2 cars and a bassett hound to get home.

I have watched them play cricket, tennis but no more. And certainly not golf!

Sandra, I take my hat off to you and hope it doesnt happen too often!

The sheep would be even worse Pipsqueak...

In Australia, a certain local radio presenter held a survey and found out that watching husbands and wives come back in after a long day's unsuccessful fishing is the most popular absolutely-free entertainment among kids and bored people who like a laugh. Make of that what you will...
