At last its here, the white rose `Madame Plantier`arrived on Thursday morning just before I left for work. I quickly unwrapped it and left it in a bucket of water so it would be ready to plant when I got home. It`s described on the label as a “medium sized creamy-white pompom-shaped blooms. A very good shrub that may also be used as a climber. Fragrant. 6ft. × 6ft.” Just what I need to grow alongside the arch. If its condition is anything to go by it will be a beautiful plant.
Waiting for her to get home and plant me!
Thanks to the wet weather we`ve had it wasn`t difficult to dig a deep hole. Lots of farm manure and bone meal went in along with gallons of water. I think Mme.Plantier will do very nicely.
The other day when I was disposing of the dead Agapanthus I leaned a bit to hard on the pot and broke it. It was made of a reclaimed, recycled stuff and I totally forgot it wasn`t as strong as the usual pot…HOWEVER……..
here is my new pot which cost all of £5 in the sale at work. At that price I couldn`t resist it. Maybe I can use the old one as a hedgehog box next Winter.
Here are some of the baby plants I bought, they have really grown in just a few days. I bought 5 Lysimachia `Persian Chocolate`, a great favourite of mine as the brownish foliage and bright yellow flowers are stunning.
I have found the dining room table to be a perfect place for some of my plants. I have added to them since I took this photo and its a bit crowded in the morning when we`re eating breakfast…lol!
This morning we visited the Dog`s Trust in nearby Harefield. We didn`t find what we were looking though we just missed out on two young black labs. We befriended a cross/lab called martin but he has to go to a home with another established dog to give him some much needed confidence. Apart from that he was all the things we ask for, friendly with young children, dogs and very loving. Never mind though, we will carry on regardless and find the right doggie and with help from a friend it probably won`t be too long. :o)
