Jubilee Weekend in one soggy garden..

Typical english weather, gives us our much needed water in time to try and ruin the weekend and damage the flowers, flipping hailstones again as well, luckily the only damage was a couple of Delphiniums bent over but not broken so a couple of stakes and length of garden twine fixed that, they will be in bloom in a couple of days so I`m pleased I didn`t lose them…
The roses here are all starting to bloom and judging by the amount of buds I think we are in for a good year again..
The Ceanonotus showing its colour, its a favourite of mine..
Flowers coming out all over.
My salad crops and carrots are doing well..
My green beans, squash and pumpkin are also thriving but spring onions and beetroot have gone to Australia, so must sow some more.
My red, white and blue didn`t flower in time but never mind and my pansies and violas at the front all in coronation robe colours were gorgeous but took a battering yesterday so not worth a photograph today, I`ve been out and tweeked them so they`ll also recover.
Off to the concert now and hoping it stays fine for lighting the beacon and the fireworks, sunshine at the moment but I`m taking my waterproof..
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend and didn`t our Queen do us proud, 86yrs old and bless her she stood for over 4hrs watching the pageant.
God Bless the Queen…

As you say Lincs it seems to be another good year for the roses and you have some beauties. Love your white love in a mist - I only have the common blue one.
Just hope that if I get to be 86 I have the stamina that our Queen has.

Sorry ladies I`ve had most of my roses a long while and don`t know, didn`t keep a record in those days, I`ve looked many a time in all my books but there are so many that all look the same in the photo`s and I just can`t figure them out..
Snoop its the first time in donkeys years that I`ve had as good a crop of lettuce, I think it must be down to the fact that the area had been part of the bottom lawn for over 30yrs so the ground had rested, lol...As to the garden I think it now gets the time and care that first my own children and then my grandchidren used to need and now don`t, I`m afraid I have been known to forget to eat when out there, cannot see a man doing that, lol...
My Nigella started out blue but are always white now, I think to get some blue I have to buy a new packet and start again I just allow the seeds to fall anywhere in the dogs area..

Hello Hywel, yes I was thrilled to bits when taking the pics of my lovely white Aquilegia, I stood in the garden thanking you, daughter has already put in a request for the seedheads, lol...
The weather is really misbehaving and thats me being polite, my lawns are the longest they`ve been in years but each time I get the mower out the heavens open yet again, lol..
