Gosh, that was exhausting I’ll bet, but certainly rewarding. Looks really good, Lincslass! I’m looking forward to seeing all the colour next year! It’ll be lovely.

Sounds like you had a really exhausting day - digging up & replanting those roses! They should look much better next year. They will have had the chance to put out new roots before the winter starts as the soil will still be quite warm. I wonder though if you shouldn't have pruned them back so as to avoid wind rock on the one hand & also so that they don't struggle to grow before the roots get established?

Wow Lincslass you have really been working hard.

Seaburn thanks, I'm saving my legs, found a pack of 200 spring mix online last night so they should arrive in the next few days, the slabs will probably need levelling when they've had a good downpour on them, I just know it will sink a bit but all in all I'm quite pleased with it... ..

Anget its a fact I never put on weight through sitting about, when in gardening mode I work all the calories off before they get chance to settle anywhere.......

Hi Balcony, I have taken a third off , I'll do them again in a few weeks, then right down in February, as they were all growing near the g'house they were huge, think the glass always encouraged them to grow big, especially the Peace Roses, I'm going to talk nicely to them, that'll do the trick, lol, plus they'll soon be having a proper mulch from my compost bin....

Lilybell we both have to be patient now but I must admit I'm looking forward to seeing if they like their new homes...I love working in my garden but we won't mention housework , lol....

What a difference,Sue,it looks great,and I can already visualise the result you are aiming for.I hope you didn't move those slabs and Bird bath on your own ! It looks nice now, it's going to be a wonderful transformation. What did you do with the white stones ? I must say I didn't like them, they made it look a bit like a grave :( Will you be putting them somewhere else ?

I did move slabs and half the birdbath but hubby used the wheels for the plinth, I never overdo it in my garden Sandra, lol.....

Shirley I think it will look smashing next springtime, hubby nags me at times about making my garden easier, this is my answer to him, lol...

Hywel you saw exactly what I did, it was freaky, I will use them to edge the bed that is behind the fishpond, I have a pathway next to the fencing, I like to keep the granite away from the garden, I'd already pinched the pavers, now I can replace them....

Wow, Sue, you have worked hard and in the hot weather too! I am like you, if I have to move something, I do it there and then using Empathy root grow and water them and talk to them ! The talking usually works! Hahaa! Its going to look brilliant next year.

Thankyou H'bird, I think that also, its getting a much needed drink today, nice steady showers all day so that should really perk the new planting up and one of the roses has a new bud on it....

Rose they all had a proper talking to as well as a dunking and a feed, I was going to wait but didn't fancy digging them out in the winter, so took advantage of the good weather, the way the rest of my garden is behaving this year it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see the roses burst forth with new shoots, especially now its raining, in fact one of the orange ones has developed a new flower bud., I spotted it earlier..

My roses are the same Sue! In fact some of the perennials which had finished are all coming back.
Weird weather isn't it !
