I wondered who was going to be the first to show a snow pic, after seeing the forecast,Linda..we have had some very cold nights, and not much better during the day, till this morning, and its 10 degrees,so got lots done outside..Rain for later,so they say..but after watching the events unfold in Japan.I am not going to complain..Isn't it just horrendous? .I hope it doesn't stay long for you,the plants won't know whether to grow or hide..stay warm..

It looks like very wet spring snow Linda. Don't think it will hang around for long...hope not! Lovely rhododendron trying to flower there!

I thought of all of in 'up North' when I saw the forecast last night and today. Hope it clears up for you soon!!

I hope it disappears soon. Not strange for Scotland this time of the year, I presume. Even Athens and much of Cyprus was covered in snow this week.

We have had such mild weather lately we just hoped we had escaped the winter. My husband and I bought a green house on Monday.......perhaps we were a bit too hasty. :o(

No, perfect timing Linda. You'll be ready for the spring when it comes! Mine's full of seedlings just now, so I'm having to heat it at night time :(

Beens snowing all day here too, thankfully it's not lying. It's so raw outside, miserable!!

Agreed. Horrible! Stuck indoors watching Rugby. I HATE t.v. rugby. Off to find something better to do.....GW magazine perhaps!

Oh, poor you...snow again! I hope it's soon melted away and your spring blooms can continue to mature. Lovely to get a new greenhouse...you'll have fun and shelter for your favourite pastime :)

Sorry about the snow Linda hope it doesn't last long. Karen! Paul has the rugby on too and it's raining hard, that's why I'm on here LOL

well just for once \o/\o/ we've had a spring day\0/\0/

Well, we have been watching the news from Japan on the TV all day. Somehow a bit of snow seems nothing.
My seed planting is delayed Karen, until we can get the green house up.
I'm sure you have it worse than me Donna, but I think it is around Inverness that is badly hit with snow and high winds.
Is that people with their arms up with joy Pam?
The snow is melting, but I think Glasgow is to be the coldest place in the UK tomorrow morning!!
Roll on the spring. \o/

Wet, sleety stuff in Moray and a very cold wind. At least it is wet and sleety and we don't have eight inches of the stuff outside the back door!

Sorry to see snow again for you - milder for Monday if that's any comfort :):):)

We moved ito our current house on the 18th March 1989 and believe it or not it snowed really hard on the first day.
As there was no central heating as such, we all had to get "dressed" to go to bed, putting on thick jumpers etc.
So nothing changes does it ?

Oh for goodness sake when is it going to end ! I do hope it's all gone by today Linda. I just couldn't cope with any more myself :(

We have known snow in April Mariek. At that time we had to stop the car as it couldn't cope with the build up on the window.
Today is clear Hywel and the garden looks OK, although Sanbaz the Crocuses and the Snowdrops have been flattened. :o(
Today and Monday are to remain at 5 degrees. (not like the 12 degrees in the south!!!)
We hope to continue laying the slabs for the green house tomorrow. :o)
Thanks all. \o/

April! When we bought our first cottage in Buchan, many, many years ago we were snowed in one morning in June! The access track was filled with wind blown snow and I could not get the car out. By mid-afternoon the snow had all gone away.

we forget what 'proper' winters were like....

We have such strange weather here Bulbaholic you just never know what is coming next. All the snow is gone now and Barry is out laying the slabs for the green house. It is just a small one (green) from B&Q. It was £235.00 but it was last years stock and the box looked a bit worse for wear, so we asked for a discount. They said £200.00 then Barry got a further 10% discount as it was a Wednesday. (OAP)
That made it £180.00. :o) Good eh!
14 Mar, 2011
That is a great reduction, Linda....you'll sure enjoy putting that bargain greenhouse into action :) Good one for Barry doing some stiff bargaining.

Your steps still look lovely Linda, even covered in snow. I hope it is better there now
