Crarae and Arduaine.

Here are a selection of photographs of a recsent visit to Crarae and Arduaine gardens. I recommend starting at the George Hotel in Inveraray for a lunch of fresh mussels. Both gardens are National Trust. May is the best time to visit Crarae to see the Rhododendrons and the Azaleas. I have to say, Crarae was looking at its best this year.
Arduaine is further round the coast on the Oban road. The coastline is very rugged and the garden is beautiful all year round. On the way home we stop off at the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar for fish to take home.
This is my favourite day out.

You've gone just at the right time to see the rhods in full bloom - somehow I never manage to time it right!! Another favourite with me is Inverewe Gardens.

Lovely Linda. I've been to one of those gardens I think it must have been Crarae, but I can't really remember, it was years ago now.

It is a great day out Libet. I have visited Crarae nearly every year for the past twenty years and I can go on the same day each year and see a different set of plants. Early in the year the Camellias and the Magnolias are amazing. We plan to visit Inverewe this year Donna. It is more than a days outing for us. I just love Arduaine and there is a lovely hotel just beside it. The coastline is wonderful and you can sit and watch the seals at play. The sea food is very very good in this area.

The morning was so wet we had to buy waterproof trousers in Inveraray. Luckily for us the weather changed and we didn't return home until 9 o'clock in the evening.
It was a fantastic day.
