Which way to go?

I am still getting photos upside down when I take them portrait format. I sorted out landscape format so here goes. Both look ok on my ipad.

Assuming that you are taking pics with your iPad as well, you need to have the lens at the top for landscape and portrait.
This will put the volume control button at the top as well and for portrait the home button will be at the bottom, on the right for landscape.

I did what you say Urbanite as I remember you saying it before. I have no problem with landscape, it is portrait format I am not getting.

Do you have the auto-rotation locked? that's the only other thing I can think may affect the camera.

Ok, I turned off the little black switch next to the volume one on the side and took the photo again. It is in member's photos. Hope this has unlocked the rotation.

I see you have two photos still on their sides - though looking in opposite directions! LOL!

I've been to your photos page but the problem doesn't seem to have been resolved yet. The Larkspur, your last photo, is still in landscape mode not portrait. :-((

Even so it's a very nice photo of a Larkspur! :-))

I think I might have to download the photo app. The auto rotation is definitely not locked.

Hope you are able to fix it successfully soon.

Thanks Balcony. My son is coming up from London at the weekend, so I intend to ask him to sort it out. :0)

It is same as Balcony said on my PC Linda. Both sideways. One left to right and the other the opposite way.

I have decided to only take photos landscape format until I get this sorted Klahanie. What a pest!

The pictures are ok for me as I am viewing on an iPad.but, not for others not viewing on Opad or iPhone.
I don't believe you can put Portrait pictures on GOY from your IPad which is why I only ever take landscape .

I've had no problem with portrait pics from my iPad - at least no-one has said they're the wrong way. I put portrait pics on my latest blog. Using a size reducer (such as minima) is useful as it means images upload much quicker and it ensures that images load properly for everyone else.

Your pictures are sideways in your blog Urbanite. 2 are OK. I am not telling people anymore because about 75% of all pictures are up side down or sideways. Lots of people using iPads and iPhones nowdays and for them its OK. We, on laptops or desk tops see the portraits sideways. I do not mind... just have to twist my head little bit. It is what it is. :-)

There is a technical term for something GOY doesn't use but I cant remember what it is now. Someone(I think it was Michaella, but I might be wrong),explained it and put a link up about it around 3 years ago when I first had my iPad!

I think Facebook automatically corrects the format Paul but GoY isn't set up to do it. We will just have to use the landscape format. :0)

Yes, that's right Linda....most sites correct it.I can't remember the technical terms.
