Its lovely Linda. You have a lot of shade, which gives it a totally different atmosphere to mine. It looks lush and very much a sanctuary. I love all the different areas and the lawns leading through them. Arent your Dahlias doing brilliantly? I have two blooms just opening. I think I need to investigate which ones do best in the north, as mine seem very slow, even though they were in the greenhouse until June. Mind you, it did go much cooler here in june which could be the reason they havent got going. I hope we get some warmth soon, but I suppose thats unlikely at this stage of the year.

PERFECTION.

Some lush areas with lots of colour. Do envy you as our garden, (a Spring one), looks rather dull at the moment.

It looks like a great place for a relaxed wander around - hope you have time to enjoy it! Your dahlias are beautiful. I've stopped trying to grow any because of slugs and snails so specially enjoyed yours.

Well I am quite amazed by your lovely comments. Most of the blooms are ok Siris, but I have a lovely climbing Rose whose blooms continually rot before flowering. This seems to happen year after year....perhaps a change is needed. The Dahlias have been a great success in my garden Karen. I split them this year and have even more plants. They give so much colour and I just love them. Barry gets annoyed when I sit them on his rustic bench!!!
I am a lazy gardener Dan.....I pack them in so I don't have to weed. I love giants and as you can see they have the space to grow. Shade in Scotland is plentiful Wildrose......it is finding things that will grow in dark corners.
I have three different Ligularia Paul. They need lots of moisture LOL.
That is very nice of you Costas. I love pottering about.
I have looked after this garden for thirty nine years. It is about form and space......couloured and textures. It has taken years Eirlys to get it to look good until September. In the past the weather here got frosty by September but with milder Autumns it is worth while investing in late flowering plants. I have pots that I put into the borders to fill gaps. Because there are so many interesting leaf shapes the garden can look good without too many flowering plants. Cutting back for second flowering helps too. Isn't gardening great?

Yes......moisture is not something we are short of in this garden which is why I planted three earlier this year.

The Gunnera is huge too Paul......that is without a pond.

I have to admit I attack the slugs whenever I find them near my Dahlias. The garden is my retreat Stera. I would rather be out there than working. I have three portraits on the go at the moment but I find I can settle down to work when it is raining. As you can imagine I am getting a lot of work done!!

Thanks DD, I love tall plants and interesting leaves. We get so much rain here green becomes the dominant colour at times.

So lovely, all of it and I am so envious of the Gunnera, I have tried so many times to grow one but without success. Wonderful.

Linda I so agree about the garden work being better than the indoors variety - although being able to paint like you do would be another reason for not doing the housework...

The Gunnera is so big this year. We might have to cut it back next year. We tried it once before and failed Ginellie, but we have it in the right place this time.
Luckily with just the two of us housework is quite minimal Stera, but I do like to cook. (Cooking is more creative)

Looking good, think all the rain has enabled our plants to grow luxuriantly, and your blooms don't seem to have suffered at all, so colourful.
