The temperature must have fallen very low for that to happen Linda, I don't remember skating around here since the 60s when our local canal froze over.

Lovely to be able to get out & play games in company - but I'm afraid you are going to have to treasure up those photos & your memories as the PM has placed the UK back into national lock-down from tomorrow! No longer will people be able to go out & join in groups to play games! :(

I imagine that by the time the lock-down is lifted there will no longer be any ice on that pond - or on any other surface except our fridges!

Wow. I haven't seen any ice that would bear since the sixties! Don't think I cold get into my skates any more - and certainly couldn't stand up in them!

cant skate but admire all those that can.

I have tried but I broke my ankle, I was 10 and terrified of falling and hurting myself. best SFP possible!.

As you say, I imagine with global warming this will be a sight that we will not witness too often.
Having said that it is to be minus two to four for the next few days overnight. Today was very, very cold.
