A Visit to Newby Hall

Can’t believe I have just spent 5 days in Yorkshire and never wore my jumper!!
I thought those who haven’t been to Newby gardens would like to see some of the spectacular flowers. I used to work there but in the kitchens of the restaurant!! But spent many an evening after work wondering around in the vast gardens.
Beautiful poppies, the ’artistic shot!
Tamarisk trees….
A wee shot of the big hedges…
And the most beautiful Peony.
Now a seat, some meadow shots and lovely yellow tulips with the meadows in the background
Gorgeous smelling Rhododendron
Some ferny shots….
Swan with an itch!
The boggy garden, beautiful
The white garden….
Viburnum Macrophalum
And part of the woodland walk.
There was so much more to see but we needed to get back home. It was a very hot and bright day, quite difficult to photograph really but am sure you get the gist!

Great pics and gorgeous place, Lulu. I love all these old stone urns and that rhodie with the fragrance...it's called Luteum...I can remember what it smells like and it's fabulous!!
Were you at the races, by any chance? :)

We were Karen, a lovely, hot day at York!
Yep Sticki, spent 4 hours watering the garden yesterday and the weather might do it for me tomorrow!

We used to go every year when we did the British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate. Loved it! Always managed to come home with more money than we went with too! :))
