Gardens of Wylye Village

It’s my 2nd GoY birthday tomorrow and I’ve photographed every inch of my garden, from every angle and it every light imaginable….how to keep interest up without repeating myself? I know……I will take photos of other peoples gardens in the beautiful village of Wylye!!
Yesterday I spent a fab day meeting my cousins, neices of my much adored Grandpa. We met at ‘Aunties’ house, the prettiest thatched cottage, had a fine lunch, chatted away and even went fishing on the river!
After lunch, on the way to fishing we walked through the most amazing garden. It has the river rushing past and a wonderful garden.
Lush ferns and lawns and roses everywhere..
Fishing was kind of fun….My cousins hubby caught his first fish this morning, 2 trout…I guess fish is on their menu tonight!
And walking back through the village took a few shots of the pretty gardens and houses.
A pub shot! and church…
A rather spooky house that always looks un lived in…
This is Aunties cute cottage and her lovely garden
Love this
And roses, all up the side of the cottage
Pepper the Norfolk Terrier who is about to have a puppy friend in a few weeks. He is ever so cute. Auntie also has a Burman cat but I forgot to photograph him!
I just love these roses, such a cool colour, or should that be a warm colour…
Well, that’s it from The Wylye valley. As I drove home I went down ‘Teapot Lane’ with some really cutsey cottage and gardens but needed to get home quick to let the poor doggies out!
Hope you enjoyed…makes a change from repeating myself!

Everything is so idyllic, beautiful. Those ferns against gravel look super and your Auntie's cottage is to die for :-)

When you look at pics like those, Lulu, it makes you realise just how beautiful our English countryside is. Second to none really. Auntie's cottage is chocolate box perfect, Pepper is too cute for words and the river through the garden is beyond perfect. Agree with Sticki tho'; one could never tire of your garden. Happy GOY birthday - don't know when mine is!! Pretty sure I missed it.

Better not tell Auntie that I put her cottage on GoY!
So glad you all enjoyed the blog and still love my garden too!
That house with the river was on the market (for a few mill) but didn't sell...idyllic but the A303 only a few hundred meters away.
England IS so beautiful isn't it.

It was nice to see these gardens, they are very pretty, .... but you would not be repeating yourself by showing your own. Every garden changes with the seasons, so you can still show your own aswell. If anyone finds it boring they can look away lol :o)
Cottage gardens are so lovely. This blog reminded me of when I used to live in one.

Beautiful area you live in Lulu, I can never see to much of gardens like yours as Hywel says they change and never stand still.

Yes, stickie, I would love a yurt party!
Lil, probably better than my Aunties, Toronto garden but they do have the scenes of Newfoundland where they live sometimes and a wee shack living with the bears on a lake a few hours drive from the city! They want me to go landscape their garden!
Thanks Hywel and Drc...this area is about 1.1/2 hour drive from me. Lots of the villages have such pretty gardens. I am going to Tisbury this month...fairly close to this village, also, fine gardens and the River Nadder running through it. I am going for a 95th birthday party!
