Romneya's Garden!

As a much-belated follow-up (Sorry!!) to the blog about the Dundee Food & Flower Show, here is the promised visit to the wonderful Romneya’s garden!
we arrived in the early evening, & were made very welcome indeed. Our tour of her large & hillygarden was fascinating. We even helped to apprehend some wierd bug from her pond that was eating the young fish & tadpoles! Yuk!
No, silly! Not him! That’s David! And meet Romneya!
Romneya grows & sells plants for a charity, so if you want to know more about it, drop her a pm & try to get her to do a blog about her cause!
And this is Robbie, the head gardener, dressed for dinner!
Then we met……..The bear!!!
Sleeping beauty’s bed? Looks like it!
Ahhh! Thats why she slept so long, her beds on a chamomile lawn!
The famous drinking pit!!
The view inside the drinking pit!
How’s this for a woodpile! I expected a fairytale witch or something!
A lovely place to sit & watch the world go by!
At this point my batteries ran out! (Well the camera’s did! )
There was LOTS more to see, &
I came away with lots of lovely plants, including lemon balm, thymes, tibetan/himalayan primulas (cant remember which) a lupin, & lotsmore! I’m hopeless with the names still! Need to remember to take notes!
Oh, I remembered the chamomile (for a lawn!!) & the bergamot, or “punk plant” as I called it!!
Thanks for making us so welcome Romneya, & we both LOVED your garden!
A quick update! I just got a pm from Romneya telling me her garden has been accepted for the ScotlandsGarden Scheme – the yellow book no less! July 4th and 5th next year.
So A date for your Diaries GoYs!!

How to relax in the garden? what a great idea of where to get rid of an old bedstead brilliant idea.
22 Sep, 2009

22 Sep, 2009
Night M, sleep well.
22 Sep, 2009
Ardent and wild gardener (s)! Glad you shared your day. Wonder if there's a camera charger adaptor to go in the car lighter socket like there is for cell phones?
23 Sep, 2009
Wonderful - and all done for charity. That's great.
23 Sep, 2009
FABULOUS !!! Sort of place you could spend a week in, let alone a day !! Cheers M ! :-)))
23 Sep, 2009
That's a great idea, Orgratis! I'll have to find out! A car charger! Neat!
i honestly didnt want to leave, Sue, I was loving it so much!
23 Sep, 2009
That looks to be a VERY nice garden, M. Pleased that you enjoyed your visit.
Rather than a car battery charger I, nearly always, carry a spare set of batteries with me. Batteries always seem to run out at the wrong moment and it just takes a minute to change them. When we go abroad we carry two or three spare sets rather than take a charger.
23 Sep, 2009
So do I normally! I'm too distracted with the uni thing I suppose! I'm gonna have to start making checklists or something!! :~))

You could always stay over in Perth, Jen!
24 Sep, 2009
Great report, Marie, except, perhaps, for linking words such as "bed" and "bug" to my name? LOL!
Many Congrats, Romneya, on getting into Scotland's "Yellow Book". Have noted the dates. :-)).
24 Sep, 2009
LOL! That's just your perception!
24 Sep, 2009
Ooooh that'd be a laugh and a half, I've visited Edinburgh but not Perth...watch this space! :o)
24 Sep, 2009
Personally I prefer Edinburgh, but its my home town! Tho Perth is very pretty! And i dont see me moving back to Auld Reekie anytime soon!
You'd be more than welcome to squeeze into my hovel!! LOL!

It's lovely, I liked that big park in the middle of the city, beautiful fountain there.
Awwww aren't you lovely, that would be great! Hovel indeed, not judging from the standard of your garden!
24 Sep, 2009

You mean Princes Street gardens! Yes, its gorgeous! I miss the art galleries!
Believe me, right now its a total tip!
Anytime you want to come up, just let me know!
24 Sep, 2009
Yep, that's the one,a real haven from the hustle and bustle of all the shops, Jenners was interesting!
I could give you a hand in the garden!
24 Sep, 2009
Ah, Jenners! I was thrown out of there when I went to get my uniform for boarding school cos I was wearing jeans!!!
You COULD! Help me work out what's supposed to be where! LOL!

You little rebel...JEANS???? What were you thinking of??!!
Don't start me off moving things, once i start my feng shui it's hard to st.........!
24 Sep, 2009
LMAO! It could do with some feng shui, I just have a problem with clutter! Cant function without it!! LOL!
24 Sep, 2009
It's not all about clutter, a lot of it's to do with balance...that's another blog though. <:o)
24 Sep, 2009
Oh yes! Please??????
24 Sep, 2009
Balance??? After talking about going to the pub after lectures earlier today????? (wish I knew how to signify a wink with a keyboard). Yes, Jen, you ought to make this a priority! :-))

Yes, O, I'd do ;~) but its the same!
Anyway, it was Wednesday NIGHT! Cheeky B!!
AND they encouraged us,gave us free drinks after the lecture! Tho the pub was extra-curricular (as was the lecture, actually!) LOL!
25 Sep, 2009
I'm perfectly well balanced, as you know, David! Hee hee!
25 Sep, 2009
Hope Junglejen does a blog soon on Feng Shui. Morgana has gotten quite a discussion going on that on my second blog on Quince Water Features & I don't know enough (ever!).
