The perfect evening for the longest day.

It is 10.15 pm in Glasgow and still pretty light. It is light at 3.00 am in the morning. It makes sleeping strange if you wake up as your body thinks it is time to get up.

It is beautiful Marorie, I too wish it was all year round, a tad cooler perhaps as Oh Boy !! its very hot today....

I was up at Kielder reservoir for a sailing holiday and we had less than 3 hrs of darkness. the sky was clear and went apricot befor fading to purple. its a dark-sky area and usually the stars are breathtaking but at 12.30 there were very few visible. the moon was also bright.

One of the best bits of living up North is the nightsky stays so light, til well after 10 pm. Our blackbirds around the area only get about 5 hours sleep, so our two indoor cats wake up early too, so of course we get to see early mornings as well, good job we like 'em! Beautiful photos.

I'm pleased that you like the photos of the evening skies - thank-you all for your comments. The nights will now be slowly drawing in, what a shame.

Really lovely photos, Marjorie. I guess most of us gardeners love the long, light evenings: for me, it means watering when it’s not so hot :)
