A must if you visit Devon……situated in Buckland Monachorum……nr Yelverton.
This is viewed as one of the finest gardens in Britain.Lionel and Katharine Fortescue created it over 40 years.They bequeathed it to the Fortescue garden trust,a small lindependant charity.

The area boasts an arboretum,bulb meadow,wildflower meadow,acer dell,lake,ten trees walk,Wysteria Bridge and walled garden,plant shop…..and of course,a coffee shop.

I have included a few photos for you to see.They have various events there including a walk and talk with the head gardener +Art classes.

I wish we were nearer to take advantage of such a beautiful and interesting garden…..next visit should be Spring.

Our Golden wedding Anniversary week was complete with an evening meal at the “Horn of plenty” restaurant where,after 5 courses, the staff presented us with a celebration message written in chocolate!…….Our table looked out over the Tamar valley…….so very green with the river Tamar just emerging in the distance forming the border between Devon and Cornwall.
Can’t wait to return!
