Our walk along the Wye valley Greenway today.

Weather just right today,so we decided to walk some of the Greenway……it has now been opened up as far as Tintern, since I last wrote about it,where the original railway stopped.
The trail has become very popular with walkers and cyclists already..and not forgetting dog walkers.A welcome haven to be away from the traffic.
The whole distance is 7 miles until you reach the tunnel at Tintern which has been sympathetically and attractively illuminated.Needless to say,we didn’t complete it,which is sad.Still there’s always another day.

The Greenway passes alongside the Diving Centre where there are many shepherd’s huts for overnight accommodation.

The trail has beautiful views across the countryside to the River Severn.

Dotted along the walk we found bygone remains of the previous railway.The first photo shows the railway track came to an abrupt stop!!

Perhaps these were the original telegraph poles which have been capped with metal.
