New planter...

On our recent visit to the nursery we saw these wooden planters each made by the local ‘bee man’.
Within minutes one of them had landed in the car boot….a kind gift from OH.
On returning home Rich lined it and it was all ready for painting.
Had to apply 2 coats, although the wood was hardwood. There are legs which raise it off the ground.
When all was dry another visit to the nursery was required….we filled a third of the planter with old plastic pots and broken terracota on top of which old compost and finally fresh multipurpose.
The plants are a mixed collection…Ageratums,Cosmos and Perlagoniums.Covered the surface with alpine grit to retain the moisture.
It was a good purchase and very reasonable at £40.00 each...4′×2′ Hopefully it will last for many years.

I’m liking the colour you chose to paint it and the choice of plants are so pretty together.

Lovely planter and paint colour and nice to know they were made by the local bee man! Good to support local businesses.

It looks a really sturdy one and I like the colour, really stands out against the fencing, you have chosen a good mix of plants Julia, very attractive xx

I too like the colour and stands out more!
You got a bargain there as some of the prices I have seen in garden centres are ridiculous!

Like the complimentary colours of the planters and your fence.

That should give you pleasure for years, and will certainly brighten up the fence!

A very pretty result, Julia. Lovely colour on the planter - good choice! Plus the planting choices are spot on too.
