A new find.

A friend had mentioned her special discovery..a quaint nursery deep in the Forest of Dean. Sat nav set we ventured out….the nursery certainly was tucked away, but we eventually found it and was met by this rather striking road sign!
It truly was a jewel in the crown 👑…..plants were much cheaper and florabunda roses 7.00 each. I bought a very pretty Heuchera,‘Ruby Bells’ to plant beside the pool.
We continued on through the forest stopping to capture some of the beautiful trees.
We arrived at our usual lake and thought there was time to check on the wildlife since our last visit.
The Geese families had certainly matured but still with their fluffy coverings.
Suddenly a small spikey, black feathered bird darted across our path….a Moorhen with its distinctive red beak…but changed his mind and decided to return to the water for safety! It was very funny. He reminded us of a very fluffy powder puff!
Of course we ended our morning at our usual coffee haunt .Hope you enjoyed the ride.

Lovely blog Julia, and quite strange for me. Before moving to Hertfordshire we lived quite near the Forest of Dean and in over 40 years it has changed, not surprisingly. I don’t remember that lovely lake, but our usual route was to Mitcheldean where my OH worked, and I used to go to pottery classes in Cinderford.
