So glad you're drawing again, Leigh. What a beautiful animal and how exciting that you will get to meet her too. It's wonderful work that you're doing with your wonderful gift. Is it painted or have you used a different medium, just curious?

hello Tuesday
what I do is the outline which is the most important part with a very soft pencil . I keep refining it and standing on chairs etc to make sure it looks right . then I do the very light base colours with chalk pastles . then to finish it of when the shading seams right I use coloured pencils to realy make it ping . I even use a little white gouache exc use my spelling to highlight the eyes with little dots in the right place . it can take me a couple of hours to get the eyes right but its worth it . you have to be your own best critic and except criticissem if you want to be better . thinking that will do wont do . well that's my opinion lol xx .

That's very true. Thanks for explaining the process; I find it really interesting. By the way, that is how you spell gouache, but no need for excuses anyway. I used to have a boy in my class who really struggled with spelling but wrote the most wonderful, creative pieces of work. He didn't punctuate or use capital letters where needed etc., but if you could just get beyond those issues, his work shone; it was so original. Some people can write and spell correctly, but have nothing interesting to say.

so great :-O

Dont go too near that Tiger cage - they have long paws .

thank you Tuesday and everyone . aparrently the part of your brain you use for spelling, writing etc is the same part you use for art .

I don't think there's any "if" about it, Leigh - she'll be delighted! So glad to hear you are excited about your latest project. It sounds as if there's plenty to keep you busy! :-)

Its so good to have you back Nosey, you seem to be on top form again, you certainly have a gift and I hope to see lots more of your wonderful drawings and paintings, I find it really interesting to hear you explain what you do to achieve the end result, I'm no good at anything like that but can appreciate what others do, we have a budding writer and artist in our grandaughter, her stories and paintings are mainly fantasy as that is where her main interest lies at the moment but she's studying and learning all aspects of drawing and painting in her coursework ready for her A levels next year so has to draw and paint many different subjects using all types of techniques and materials, I tease her and tell her I expect her to treat me when she sells her first painting, lol..
You made me smile with your comment " you have to be your own best critic " our grandaughter at only 16yrs old already has that attitude and refuses to submit her drawings and paintings unless they are perfect in her eyes, its definitely not a case of that'll do, lol.......

well if your granddaughter needs any help im always here linclass . good to hear she has the right attitude x .

Money's not everything Leigh. It certainly can't buy the enthusiasm and immense satisfaction that you obviously get from creating your lovely works of art. Also, money is no substitute for the pleasure that other people get from looking at your awesome creations. Keep up the good work and stay well pal.

Wow,Leigh,what magnificent animals,they are,aren't they?
I'm so pleased you feel like getting back to your lovely drawings and paintings..a talent that needs to be fulfilled..and I love seeing this in progress..It's going to be wonderful..Great news you will get to see Puna..I hate how they are being hunted, and their habitat being destroyed .and for all the other animals too..
Lady Lainey sounds to be a much nicer person than the last one you dealt with :o)
