Weather cold and cloudy 15.10.2010 having to wait in for delivery of plants (no surprise there then) tired arms and shoulders from banging in posts and thought would have a rest just took some pictures of plants still giving out some colour.
Lovely red these cyclamen, just love reds at this time of year.
Trailing geranium
Astrantia, it must have been transplanted with other plants because I haven’t knowingly put it in there
One Autumn Crocus poking its head out of hardy geraniums.
Verbena still with lots of flowers
Michealmas daisy – cannot remember its name, it has really tiny white/pink flowers, the leaves are very dark bronze and it didn’t flower last year, so I am pleased to see it back this year
Hydrangea – another flower appeared, great colour love it, I had this one given to me by a friend who no longer wanted it in their garden.
Even the borders with the new fencing panels (which have caused me so much pain) are full of autumn colour, need to get in there and clip and chop stuff out but am loathed to do it yet, still lots of colour as you can see. Because I have a good EXCUSE to sit down I am off now to order my new roses to plant around the new fencing. OOOOOer it is exciting! (didn’t get any problems either loading up photos in fact it was quicker for me) Hope you enjoy the pictures. – Barbara :o))))

Yes Motinot that name rings a bell, I am shocking with plant names, suppose it doesn't matter it is the plant that matters not the name, just about to order roses. Excited !

Olive do you know the name of the magenta pink geranium in the last pic please?
15 Oct, 2010
Annella, the only tag that was on the plant was Geranium psilostemon, got it from www.woottensplants.co.uk they have quite a large selection on their site. It was new this year, so not very big yet, but a lovely colour.

I'm with you on the red cyclamen...it's beautiful against the foliage too.
You'll have a beautiful spot when you get your roses established...you must be so pleased with your fence construction :) Give your aching muscles a break, as you say, and get your roses ordered.

Yes, I'm pleased too Mum, I got quite anxious yesterday when everyone was threatening to leave us!! :)) Those cyclamen are stunning!!

Hope you are feeling better Karen. I love cyclamen, don't suppose they will last long when it starts to turn cold, they were a bargain buy from Focus, help with a splash of colour when stuff is dying off in the garden.

We have a focus in arbroath but the plants are always awful! Thanks I'm feeling much better. Today I did some gardening and prep for decorating the bathroom.

Our Focus here is terrible too...everything is very neglected usually...hardly ever go in there for anything (even though hubby's sister works there!).
Glad to see you're feeling brighter today, Karensue...now taking on the bathroom decorating as well as the garden...is there no end to your talents?

Lovely Photo`s, very colourful, only one solitary autumn crocus here, think the others have been eaten again, my Toad Lilies never flowered, do you think they would do better in the ground as I have them in pots?......
I`m staying as well, I need my Goy fix, also like the bird site......
18 Oct, 2010
Probably yes Lincslass in the ground would maybe suit them better, try a nice sunny spot, mine are always later than others because they are in a shady spot, pleased you are staying.
