A few Saxifraga

I love the autumn Saxifraga fortuneii, so thought I would share my small collection with you.

Sadly I have either lost some of the labels or, they may be within the clumps. So, rather than disturb them at the moment I shall have to look for them later when I can disturb the clumps.

Sugar Plum Fairy above is one of my favourites.

Saxifraga cortusifolia – Rokujo

Above a new one – Silver Velvet
It’s a shame fallen leaves & rain make them look rather untidy, but I love them all the same.

ooh I like 'silver velvet', the leaves are most striking. I have a few and I love the too. I am trying to expand my collection too.

They are all beautiful but that last one is the most impressive; I love those leaves. Do they have a long blooming period?

Thanks all, Yes Lauram it's been in flower now about 6/8 weeks. I've got this one growing in gravel so it dosent get so mucky as the others.

Oooh, yes, I love these. Do please edit this blog when you can add the names - I like the second one...it's 'different'. :-)

I think the thing about these Pam is that the folliage is as nice as the flower.

And they are fall-blooming which is always a plus. I love having flowers in the fall when they're less expected.

Yes, I love the foliage Stroller. I also love Autumn flowering plants Lauram, I have an Autumn galanthus in flower at the moment reginae-olgae. I will post it later.

Spritz, I haven't forgotten your comments, did have a quick look but still can't find the labels but will look in my plant finder.

I didn't realise that there are so many differently-named varieties - wonderful!

Spitz, I think the second one could be cotton crochet. The list below is all the ones I have & maybe a few more, but the labels go missing. I thought I had quite a secure way of labeling as you can see on sugar plum fairy. I think the birds play with them.
Cheap confections
Cotton crochet
Blackberry & apple pie
Black Ruby
Cherry Pie
Sugar Plum Fairy
Silver Velvet
Rokujo
There are still a few new ones on the circuit but from specialist nurseries.
