Must admit to being dissapointed with this. The description on the seed packet had this lovely flower in shades of "antique brown". It has too much blue, in my opinion, but still, splashes of choc brown, and looking good planted en masse in a dsrk brown basin.

Must admit I rather like them.

17 Aug, 2009

They are growing on me now, however. :-)

I think theyre lovely!

Lovely close up of a lovely flower! :)

I would have said they were mostly brown, David! They're very pretty, too

So would I Spritz!

Sort of Cadbury-looking David ?....
brown chocolate with purple wrappers ?..
Very pretty :o)

Good one, Terra!

I wonder if David has tried eating one of these violas to check for chocolate taste ? ;o)

22 Aug, 2009

Wouldnt put it past him!
Mind you, he told me black sambucus berries werent edible, so I tried one to see!

22 Aug, 2009

.. and you lived to tell the tale ?

22 Aug, 2009

Yes, they taste the same as normal elderberries, but are much smaller, so not worth the bother really!!

22 Aug, 2009

I'm sure David will report on the taste of the violas... ;o)

22 Aug, 2009

Sure he will, if he's brave enough to try them!

22 Aug, 2009

Okay, will try some tomorrow and, hopefully, live to report back. :-)

22 Aug, 2009

Ok then, but not too much, now!

22 Aug, 2009

Very pretty.

23 Aug, 2009

Well, have you tried them???????????

23 Aug, 2009

Couldn't, Mp, it's been raining all day - good for the violas, but wouldn't help me taste anything but rainwater. Will try tomorrow, if dry.

23 Aug, 2009

Yeah, yeah!! I KNOW it's been raining!!! No excuse!! LOL!!

23 Aug, 2009

Edibles should be harvested on a dry morning (tomoorow, hopefully) and when there has been no rain during the preceding night (tonight, hopefully).

:-)

23 Aug, 2009

OK, OK!!! lol!
