I really don't know how they started it off, Ian - but once they get going, they climb! This is ONE plant - and it has spread well over 40' along, and right over the wall from the other side - that's how vigorous it is!

No! I don't know how long it's been there, of course. They were here for 18 years, and we've lived here for 5, now. It could be around 20 years old, couldn't it!
