Finally finished and plants put back into place after their move from the pond area. Just in time too, from the look of my Skimmia......it was beginning to suffer.........

A job well done Milky , it looks great . :-)

That looks brilliant with all the different shapes.

The plants all complement each other. Where is the pond in relation to this bed then, closeby?
19 Oct, 2009
You have done a great job there, everything looks so neat and tidy and your planting as been very well planned

Looks lovely Milky....

Thanks all......The pond is to the right of this bed......about 6/7 feet away so the walls run parallel.....Its not as large as I wanted it, but SP dug his heels in....

Men are like that, grrrrr. It does look lovely though and full of lovely loam, hmmmm
19 Oct, 2009
Certainly is Dawn...Totally emptied one whole compost bin that is over 18 months matured and then dug barrow loads from the veggie plot and 3 old bags of bark that have been sitting down the garden since last winter......Think that should see it ok......Lol

Sounds perfect, lots of hard work but lush, I can smell it from here.

If I remember rightly it was SP who did all the work on the pond while Milky just did a little labouring for the master craftsman. Bet it was him who built the walls for this lovely display too. Why is it that us men never get the praise due to us?
19 Oct, 2009
We work you men, you see Toto. We make you cups of tea, praise and encourage you and then rub our hands together when you have fallen for the plot.
19 Oct, 2009
And don't think we haven't noticed.
19 Oct, 2009
Excuse me Toto......but I was the one who dug the trenches for the foundations, while SP watched on.....and I mixed the cement too....If I doidnt, then the jobs wouldnt get done.......I dont just sit and watch............
19 Oct, 2009
Sorry Maureen, I presumed Toto knew that we laboured on their behalf, besides making the tea etc.

20 Oct, 2009
We wouldn't notice Dawn.
20 Oct, 2009

20 Oct, 2009

20 Oct, 2009
You must be joking!
20 Oct, 2009
They certainly wouldnt Dawn....What about the 1st "Can you pass me......"Who is gonna be there to pass it? might I ask if we arent.......
20 Oct, 2009
What are you on about? You've lost me.
20 Oct, 2009
I get you Maureen - you see Toto, you men want things passing to you and then want things fetching for you .....
20 Oct, 2009
Typical isnt it Dawn.........wonder how many times he has said to "her who must be obeyed, can you just get me........!!!!!!!!
20 Oct, 2009
No chance SWMBO just wanders off.
21 Oct, 2009
Good for her......she's obviously got your number Toto........
21 Oct, 2009
Good for her!!!!!!!!!!!
Am I to be a slave all my life? I don't think you appreciate what we men have to go through.
21 Oct, 2009
Oh you poor poor soul you......Im sure that you life the life of Riley up there by the coast....Lunch by the river, prepared....dare I say by "SHMBO" and you think your hard done by!!!!!! Shame on you Toto...
21 Oct, 2009
Excuse me. I take her tea in bed every morning and have to prepare my own nosebag for the day.
21 Oct, 2009
Good Boy so you should......she has enough to do with all the other jobs she has to do for you...........
21 Oct, 2009
Like what. I don't wash so she doesn't need to clean the shower, bath or sink. I don't change my clothes so she doesn't need to wash anything and that saves her ironing too. I tend to live in the shed so I don't mucky the house. What more can she want?
21 Oct, 2009
Air freshener?........................
21 Oct, 2009
What! when she's got me?
21 Oct, 2009
From you description of yourself, you are anything but fresh Toto............
22 Oct, 2009
Your raised bed looks great Milky and you have a good plant selection, have you also put bulbs in for springtime ?. Toto. Why is it if I`m doing a job I just get on with it !!!!!!!. If him indoors does something I have to be general dogsbody and whipping boy if it goes wrong?????? lol..
22 Oct, 2009
ahh lincslass...if you can figure out why Toto has this opinion, I would like to hear it. It seems its one rule for us women gardeners and one rule for the men. We can work on our own, they just dont have the ability.....Lol
22 Oct, 2009
Not true. I always work on my own. I prefer it that way.
22 Oct, 2009
Oh that's lovely Milky :-))))
22 Oct, 2009
Thanks Louise..........
22 Oct, 2009
MIlky..lovely new bed
And I too have noticed that men always seem to ask for this and fetch that, can you hold this? Lift that?...but when I ask for help..."I am busy!" well what am I doing filing my nails????
<sigh> MEN! (lol)
24 Oct, 2009
Exactly Healerwitch,,,,big big sigh.......................................

They do say that women come from Venus and Men come from Mars.......
we have multi tasking brains and can manage to do several jobs all at once. It keeps us fit. Like you Milky in the past I have done cementing, plumbing etc. Sometimes it takes me a while to do a task like painting the fence but I have a go. Gerry sometimes does the cooking or vacuums the carpets, but why not........He does get me evacuating the spiders that come into the house though. We were laying in bed yesterday and there was a spider on the ceiling and it quickly ran towards the light switch then parachuted down towards us. I got up very quickly grabbed hold of the spider, opened the window and put it outside.
26 Oct, 2009
Thats my girl......facing all foes to protect your man ha ha ha .......I hope he appreciates you.......Yes indeed God created us to multitask, and its a good job he did because the male species cant......Lol
26 Oct, 2009
It was Eve who got Adam to take a bite of the apple and they were banished from that garden.........
27 Oct, 2009
Ha Well Ray hasn't got many teeth left in his head, so he wont be biting any apples........anyway....they would be far too healthy for him to eat.....Lol
27 Oct, 2009
You could peel the apple for him Milky.
28 Oct, 2009
I wait on that man enough thanks Lindak.....he he he........Lol
