You can just spot the hot tub top left - it was my other half's idea but it is great for relaxing, I highly recommend!

Well, it certainly aint like that just now! Mud, puddles, and debris all over the place! Desperate to get out but it's just been soggy since November! Surely the precipitation must CEASE!!?

Whats in the three green boxes ? sweetpeas?
24 Jan, 2010
Yup! Not going to do them this year.....I say that every year! lol!

Why ? the reason I ask is that in the past I have grown them in large pots and they never came to much---------- thought you might have another secret formular LOL !
25 Jan, 2010
Well, I put 6X in the compost and they seem to do ok but I think they really need a deeper root run don't they, and alone in pots they are actually quite ugly plants, and I never seem to get the intensity of scent that I remember from childhood. I don't know if it's the cooler climate or the pots or just the varieties I choose to grow, but i'm usually a little disappointed, and they don't last long in the vase at all. Having said that, I do love the scent.

Like you I say never again but already have some in a cold frame, sown last Oct. ! Yes I agree they are better in the ground.

Ha ha ha! They are totally irresistable! lol. Hope you get better results this time. I have resisted buying seed so far!

I'm trying them for the first time this year and after reading this I will definitely put them in the ground:-) such a pretty, neat garden too :-)

Good plan! I hope you have great success. They are quite easy as long as you have plenty of feed in there!

Ha! I wish!

Gnomes?? I always wondered how some people had such tidy gardens....at last Gg you've told me the answer. Perhaps you wouldn't mind telling me how to attract them to my garden??:-)
6 Feb, 2010
Attracting them isn't the problem, Bornagain, it's getting them to actually do some work once they get there!!! lol
8 Feb, 2010
Don't think I'll bother then Gg:-( :-)
