Are they still in their bags Val, or have you planted them? It's exciting though isn't it? I was listening to a radio program on alcohol addiction, at least we're spending our money on something worthwhile, I seem to get worse as I get older!! Lol.
I think it will Pp...just love the colours together....how are you now are you getting used to things?...X
It is Amy......how's your little Fudge...aw....don't like to think of him being pushed out...:o(
He..he Bornagain.......I'll just have a look...the bag says Taylors Choice and it's called Lifestyle, which sounds a strange name...it was only £1.99 from our Garden Centre.....:o)

More than likely in a tub, don't have all that much ground room.
Sainsburys £2-99 for 2, my friend said "thats funny looking bread".!
Try for a pic but was having trouble last night so don't hold your breath. :o)

Janey I love that Dahlia & just had to add it to my favourites! If you haven't planted it in a 6" pot now would be a good time to do so. Put the pot in a cool, but frost proof place, leave it for a few weeks & when you see growth bring it out & put it where it can get lots of light.
Are you going to plant it in your garden or in a bigger pot/tub? Depending on where you live, you will have to wait until Easter before planting it in the garden. Even then you will have to keep an eye on the night temps.
I've got some Dahlia seeds I'm itching to plant.

It is a beauty isn't it Balcony...:o)
Oh, so you think I should plant it now in a pot.....it has a huge tuber system, I hadn't made up my mind but I think I'll put it in a large tub eventually. Last year I planted 2 new ones in the garden but too far away to enjoy them. My hubby Ian usually grows Dahlias....the smaller garden ones, they are so easy and worthwhile....you'll love them!
Which seeds did you buy?
23 Jan, 2010
Seaburngirl advised me to pot up now Janey, have a look at my dahlia question, she explains it better than i could:-)
23 Jan, 2010
Thanks Ba...I will....:o)
24 Jan, 2010
I didn't buy the seeds, I collected them from the plants the council had planted. As we are still forecast cold, frosty weather for the next week I'll hold off planting the seeds for another week or two. They should germinate quickly but once they come up I've nowhere to keep them. All the windowsills are occupied - I will just have to be patient & wait a month longer.
27 Jan, 2010
A lot to look forward to Balcony......I know how you feel...its like champing at the bit...Lol!
27 Jan, 2010
I'm "champing at the bit" as you put it every day - especially when we get a few days with a little sunshine as has happened the last 3 days here.

You know it was quite warm in the greenhouse today......I really wanted to get going planting seeds, but the night temps will be freezing....:o(
