30 Jan, 2010

Tanny has some nice shots of them Sandra he s not too far from you ..quite easy to miss amongst dunnocks and sparrows .Yes bird count done as Redwing visited in snow as well today ..no sign of male here either Louise apparently they used to be summer visitors and always migrate for winter but now more staying here throughout the year ..

30 Jan, 2010

I'm doing mine tomorrow San.

Bb, what concerns me is that he's been here up until a week ago and i'm wondering where he's gone .... if anything awful's happened to him !

30 Jan, 2010

ok thanx lou, i will first thing before anyone else up so not to be disturbed

30 Jan, 2010

Think they just look after themselves during winter months Louise as dont breed in earnest till late spring so just concentrating on food now so dont think they have coupled up yet .Quite feisty little birds for their size.

30 Jan, 2010

Not seen them in our garden, just because we need to count the birds this week-end we have seen one bird, so will try again tomorrow....

30 Jan, 2010

Lol...Good luck for tomorrow Sandra and Dd ! Think we had good count today as have another 3 inches of the white stuff to contend with. These sort of days bring them flocking...at one poin counted 23 blackbirds in one go!

Louise...our trotty wagtail had disappeared for a week too,and we did wonder...but he was back today in the fresh snow ! Must have been finding insects on the ground when the snow had disappeared. Try not to worry......
