these are my only surviving plants from over winter, not having a greenhouse i have struggled, 2 goldfinch shrubs from seed,2 lamium, 2 passion flower, small one from donnah, carnation plant from carol,1 sad looking fuschia, 1 sad hollyhock, 6 geraniums from cuttings, 1 alcea nigra off ebay, so im going to have to rethink next winter, checked my fuschia in growhouse which hopefully have been warm enough cause quite hardy, so will try some more seeds come spring and hope they do better

I was going to say the same as Alice, my son has a green lean to one at his house and it`s a very neat looking one and has proved very useful, if space is limited they are ideal San............

Can't you turn one of the old cars into a 'plant room', Sanbaz? One of those camper vans with the upwards extending roof would work well :)

I think you have done reallty well Sandra, it has been so severe this winter that I think most of us have suffered fatalities. I keep my plants in the garage which has been convertated to work /utility room. I have a small heater with a frost control, but have still lost a few cuttings, but hey thats all part of gardening you lose some and win some ;0))

~ it's not easy without somewhere to house your tender stuff when it is as cold as it has been these last two winters~you can get really nice metal greenhouses in really small sizes 4 by 4 and 6 by 4~or maybe a lean to against the house?~ I am sure your plants will be fine as long as they have enough light~
