David isn't it cordylines that grow into the tall palm like trees. You can get the little ones reasonable and they grow into a tree within a few years.

You probably will have to fleece them in the winter when they are small David. OUrs grew large in our other garden without fleecing because it was a south facing one, but if we are going to get the winters like the one we've just had we'll probably have to take more care.
