It works for now, Annella but I'm sure it won't be too long before it's changed to a brighter location. Nice to meet you too, Annella. :)

Thanks Paul....the pot in the corner with the camellia was a birthday gift from a dear friend, Daisyco. I really want to get them moved from that corner but can't do that until the garden is developed in early December.

Thanks, Jackie....the plants have grown a bit since this photo and still lots of berries on the cotoneaster.

Lovely buds on that Camellia....not long now and they'll be opening up! i've replied to your pm. :)

Some of the buds have dropped, Karen but I am still looking forward to seeing lots of blossom as the camellia matures. Where I have it in the corner, it is fairly protected so I'm confident it will make it through the winter :)
I've replied to your PM as well, Karen...lol :)

Should be fine as long as it doesn't dry out Wlass. Most bud drop is caused by drought. Lovely flowers aren't they? One of the first evergreens to flower in my garden in the spring.....I really love them!

Lovely grouping Wlass, Camelia and Cotoneaster are both on my wish list ;o)

I will have to watch the camelia very carefully (it will flower in autumn) and treat it with lots of TLC to coax it into life again after the harsh winter :(
The cotoneaster has lost its berries but is looking healthy. It will be planted up against the fencing when the borders are in place (that's the plan).

Hope you did not lose any of these lovely plants last winter, a very good selection potted up there.

I live in hope, DD. There are signs of life again in the plants that appeared to be goners a few weeks ago :)

Good. that is great to hear.

When I see other gardeners waiting..I'm a little less anxious. Gardens take time...so we are both learning! One of the first plants (shrubs) I ever bought was a cotoneaster...lovely thing, with the red berries. Had a particular type of fly who used to lay eggs on it and the larvae made a mess of the leaves! Keep your eyes on the prize, W'lass. I hope it is a NA pest and you're not bothered by it.
I lost my Japanese Maple...it died X-(..... and so did my Sambucas (Black Lace)...BUT...everything else seems to be doing just fine...hope springs eternal! Good luck..and don't worry too much about what doesn't make it...just be zen. If it doesn't live...it wasn't meant to...lol.

You are right, Lorilyn...some plants just don't make the grade. I don't have a Japanese maple (Acer) as yet but I am on the lookout to get one to plant in a large pot for starters.
My cotoneaster is full of white flowers now (berries will re-emerge in the autumn) and I have it in my large terracota pot in the rockery against the back wall of the house (you can see it in some of my other more recent blogs..I haven't put many photos in the "photo" section yet).
The flies that attacked your cotoneaster sound nasty...I haven't noticed anything as yet...fingers crossed! And, yes, I agree that a garden evolves and also means waiting patiently...next year should see a lot of my plants getting bigger and filling up my borders a lot more. Good luck with your garden too, Lorilyn :)
