what a beautiful, lush border. I would love to be able to create something like this

The boarder is 2 years old.
The soil is the footings which were dug out when the conservatory was built; it has been enriched with lawn mowing, sheep droppings and some Growmore
The basic Herbaceous perennials that were put in during the 1st spring were Phlox, Delphiniums, Shasta daisy (Leucanthemum x superbum) Michaelmas daisy and Cosmos, we filled it out with annuals grown from seed. In the autumn we split the herbaceous perennials, therefore getting 3 times more plants than we had the previous spring. I swap, barter and occasionally buy new plants. I plant them as soon as they have had a good drink, they get put in anywhere that I have a space and then they all get rearranged in the autumn when I have seen what their growing habit is.
We have grown sunflowers at the back to provide food for the birds. This year we have added Crocosmia, Scabious, Rudbeckia, Dianthus, Liatris and again annuals to fill in the gaps.
The Sweet Williams were a great success I was able to cut and sell over 50 bunches; this provided enough funds to cover the expenses incurred buying the Growmore and the additional plants/seeds that we purchased.
We are now on the lookout for more plants and ideas to develop the boarder for next year. Suggestions please.
