Another beauty....as I scroll through your pics it's like a garden book of Iris's!
30 May, 2011
Ive got the Claire Austin Book of Irises Lou, and Im ticking them off one by one lol!
30 May, 2011
How many varieties do you have so far..........?
30 May, 2011
At least 43, and another 14 on order, and another 10 are tempting me...

That's alot of space needed!
I am about to move mine as I think the roots are too shaded. I hear they grow quuite well in gravel, or else I will just move them to the front of the newly widened flowerbed!

Anywhere they get full blast of the sun on the rhizomes Lou. Mine are near the edges of the borders mostly, danger from slugs and snails of course cos they hide near the border edging, but judicious use of slug pellets keep them under control.

Hmmm, thanks for the info as they really need more sun!

I have over 100 varieties Dwyllis, and each time one blooms I like it best lol! I have soo many favourites yet I still want more!
27 Sep, 2011
Lol over 100!! now Tetrarch, you've been busy :-), I've been digging yet another extension to the daylily bed, that really is it now ;-), have 153 now plus 20 unamed seedlings.
27 Sep, 2011
Yep, nicked next door's front garden too!!! Using for one year for excess irises, plus a few plants for them.
27 Sep, 2011
Mmmmm now thats an idea we have 3rd acre plot next door still waiting to be built on :-)))))
27 Sep, 2011
Now who could complain if you try to make it pretty while you are waiting....
27 Sep, 2011
Too true Tetrarch I'm certainly sick of the weed seeds blowing over, don't think they'll ever build, bought the plot 12 years ago when we built ours.

Lovely colour, looking into the centre. What a lot of colour varieties you have. Your pics are better than looking at a specialist catalogue, probably truer colour.
