Amy, Skips, Daisy - glad you like it.
Still 'a work in progress'. It's John's project really and we dont know the proper way of doing it but seems to be working OK. We have 4 willows each side and keep tying them into each other, I think it working.
Skips, that sounds a wonderful place to visit, how clever to make furniture out of willow.
Our woodland path weaves amongst the trees and goes under this too :-)

Thanks Karen/Cris. Our path winds through the trees and then suddenly you are in the arch and back out into open ground by the pond, it is beginning to take shape.

do you cut yours back in the winter?

20 Sep, 2011

Its still developing Sandra, so no, we've only been tying it in to increase the thickness of the canopy.

20 Sep, 2011

i hope to have a day tieing in the new branches soon before the serious winds set in...

20 Sep, 2011

Good luck and be careful if you have to use a step ladder, like us.

20 Sep, 2011

I'm hopeing to take advantage of my nephew this weekend. he's the tallest so probably wont need a ladder on my willow.

20 Sep, 2011

Good plan :)

Hi Folly, its gone a bit wild lately, shoots need tying in, hopefully we'll get around to doing it soon.

Ours are the same Dawn all overgrown...but 5 years on I am more interested in the willow for weaving so I have revamped one of my structures and now cut it down most winters to play with.
