oh thanks cinderella; they are a lovely couple, they worked very hard to make this wedding really memorable, [for all the right reasons] as did the bride's mum and family.

They look idyllically happy. I hope they enjoy a long and happy married life together.
9 Sep, 2011
me too ~ thanks scotsgran; they were/are very happy.

What a lovely couple!! When was the wedding Sticki? I think you should do a blog with many more photo's...please!
9 Sep, 2011
That is a good idea if they would not mind. I think you said they had decided on a cup cake wedding cake? I'd love to see that. The brides bouquet is lovely and very different from any of the ones carried by my daughters and daughter in law. They all chose exactly the same bouquet.

9 Sep, 2011
What a lovely picture Sticki....best wishes to them both.
A very handsome young man and a beautiful girl. Mum's and their sons eh!!
Shame your mother hasn't said much. Is he her favourite? I feel sorry for the poor girl who gets my son - my mother will be a nightmare!! He is her favourite. She more or less brought him up as I ended up a single parent and was out working most of the time.
You will miss them at Christmas time....the neighbours would be talking if all these young men turned up at your door!!!!
9 Sep, 2011
Thanks Scottish! The lads from work won't really come round!
My mum has always liked him and she likes Zoe too, it was a church wedding which I thought she approved of, I just can't understand it.
10 Sep, 2011
Sticki, what a beautiful photograph! I bet this is better, more intimate, than any of the official ones. Your son has such a gentle face, a lovely couple :-)) I only hope the bride has an equally lovely Mother-In-Law!:-))
10 Sep, 2011
I try BA! She is a lovely girl, I really like her.

Shame about your mum, though.
12 Sep, 2011
thank you constance, they are a lovely couple and im very lucky.
dont know what to say about my mum ~ still cant understand and there have been other problems since with a different person in the family ~ thankfully not these two!!
12 Sep, 2011
Families, huh - who'd 'ave 'em?!! (well, we would, most of the time.....but sometimes.........could see them far enough!)
12 Sep, 2011
Oh dear..there is always one, isn't there ?..or two !Such a shame to have a damper on your special day..Are you going to ask your mum what is the reason ? I'm afraid I would have to..just to put my mind at rest..it might only be something very trivial..you need to know ,Sticki,or else it is going to niggle away at you,and you need to put it behind you,and clear the air,or at least put a closure on it..
12 Sep, 2011
no i shant ask ~ i have a feeling i know why ~ its always been the same. im not sure she realises.
12 Sep, 2011
Oh well,Sticki..as long as you have an idea..but still a shame to mar the big day..
12 Sep, 2011
it makes me sad. and it has upset me but i wont let it take away from what was such a lovely day.
12 Sep, 2011

12 Sep, 2011
What a beautiful photo of two people so obviously deeply in love with each other. Smashing Stickie, thanks for sharing it with us. I love weddings..........I wish them a wonderful life together full of happiness, sharing caring and love. xxx
13 Sep, 2011
Thank you flori and Linda, I hope to be seeing them - and the photos this weekend!
13 Sep, 2011
Trouble with wedding photos is that they take so many you never know which ones to choose............
13 Sep, 2011
I have seen some of these already and that will indeed be a problem! They chose the photographers carefully - they were a really nice couple. There is one photo I love - bit unusual - background of meadow type flowers and then a close up of hands clasped together, I loved it!
13 Sep, 2011
One of the guests had taken lots of photos at my daughters wedding. They sent me a disc of what they had taken which i thought was really thoughtful of them. I chose some of their photos to add to a big album I got to put the best of the photos taken throughout the day on disposable cameras we had placed on each table for the guests to use. My daughter and son in law were very pleased to have that as the official photos were not as good as what we expected. It gave them an insight of how their guests enjoyed themselves too.
13 Sep, 2011
Yes i have heard of that done before ~ its a nice idea; someone we know took a few photos for us ~ as its usually us that takes photos for other people!!
the photographers they chose came as a couple and stayed from morning till evening ~ both taking photos ~ good thing its all digital now!!
13 Sep, 2011
Everyone's said it already Sticki, but what a lovely intimate, romantic photo of two stunningly gorgeous people. Lucky you to have them, and lucky them to have you. :-) It must bring back happy memories of a momentous day for you all.
Lots of love XXX BT
13 Sep, 2011
What a lovely comment Beattie, thank you!
Nice to see you back - you haven't been on for a while have you?
13 Sep, 2011
My son in laws old Scoutmaster did a brilliant video for them of them getting prepared, then in the church and throughout the reception speeches and right through the whole day. He send both sets of parents videos too. People can be very kind.
You can be so proud of this young couple. They look so good together. I always cry at weddings and every time i come backto your blog I well up because this is how people should be.
13 Sep, 2011
I've been away from home a lot Sticki - keeping in touch via the miracle that is a dongle, but not on line or in the garden as much as usual. Now getting ready for another foray out of Cornwall towards the end of the week.
13 Sep, 2011
thank you scotsgran, i dont think anyone did take a video which is a real shame cos the music was exceptional and there was one speech in particular i would love to have heard and kept.
hope you are ok beattie, all the best.
13 Sep, 2011
Thanks Sticki, same to you. :-) XXX
13 Sep, 2011
I can understand that. The minister asked if we wanted a video and we said no. We felt it might distract people but he said the photographer can stand up in the organ gallery and he will be out of sight. We did not arrange to have one however. We had a party for all the guests the evening before the wedding and this chap asked if it would be alright if he came along in the morning to catch a snap shot of the chaos that is the brides home on her wedding day. I said preferably not. My OH and I went to deliver the cake and when we returned he was making a video of my daughter having her hair done. I got the same treatment. He had already been all over the church and church yard getting a feel for the place. After a coffee he went off to capture the toils and troubles of the bridegroom and best man donning their kilts etc for the first time. My OH had explained to my son in law how everything was put on and he was pretty self assured about it but the best man was a scream. He is a character and was probably playing it up for the camera. Nobody sees the bride arrive if they are in the church so it was especially nice to see my OH walk our daughter down the drive heralded by her cousin playing the pipes.
We are so lucky to have those happy memories and it brought my own wedding day back as that cousin had been a page boy at my wedding. my brother piped me to church and he piped my daughter and new hubby in to their reception.
14 Sep, 2011
Wow! Scotsgran you have some great memories!
14 Sep, 2011
Thankyou Scotsgran for sharing with us it ounded great. Love the pipes and the kilt, in fact we love Scotland and take holidays there. Going to the Edinburgh region next year for the first time.
14 Sep, 2011
edinburgh is a wonderful place linda ~ try to get to the botanical gardens if you can, they are free.

Sticki, Grandmothers see grandsons as a replacement of their sons or sons they didn't have.(or as they get older their husbands)
She has lost a son I think in her mind. In her mind no-one is good enough for your son. Given time she will come round. ( i know, I speak from experience)
Wait till the next generation comes along!!!!!!
But above all else rejoice in the fact your son has found his soulmate.

14 Sep, 2011
my congratulations to you both too tulsalady!! 48 years!! that is quite something ~ well done you.
and thank you for your lovely comments.
14 Sep, 2011
That's a lovely photo and, I agree with - just scrolled back through all posts to find this out - Bornagain, probably nicer than many official pics, although you do say that there are some lovely ones. Personally, I hated most of my official wedding photos and took much more pleasure in those taken discreetly by friends; I am not comfortable in front of a camera. I can't wait for mine to start getting married. Your son looks lovely and his bride looks both beautiful and blissful. Hope your Mum says something nice soon, as I can imagine how upsetting it must be that she hasn't. Maybe you could try something along the lines of ,'How did you enjoy the wedding, Mum? Son's name (which I can't find) and Zoe were so pleased to have you there as so many young people no longer have their grandparents to share their special day.' Or something along those lines... Anyway, glad you had a lovely day,Sticki. Lots to look forward to.
14 Sep, 2011
thanks tuesdaybear! i hate having my photo taken too ~ much prefer to be behind the camera!!
14 Sep, 2011
