Down the garden today

Down the garden today (Clematis armandii)

Little by little the trellis is being covered, I'm really pleased with the growth that the climbing Roses have put on this year, New Dawn and Graham Thomas have met at last over the arch....:o) Also Clematis Armandii is looking really strong and healthy, hoping for some flowers this winter.

That looks really lovely Janey! I am planning some arches myself..I might even move my Graham Thomas and plant it there...it's a lovely rose isn't it. Mine is still flowering like mad. And just yesterday I was thinking I wished I had somewhere to plant an Armandii...Apple Blossom, the pinky one...it's a gorgeous plant! Maybe even a Clematis Napaulense...worth a try. Anyway, I waffle...this looks really beautiful! :))

That does look lovely, as you know I love arches in the garden, GT is an amazing rose, and New Dawn, would not like to be without them, your Tamarix is looking wonderful, ours is still a stick ....

Thanks Karen, yes my GT has climbed so much and still flower buds just opening! It really wasn't to go with the New Dawn, Schoolgirl was supposed tog row between which would have taken the pink to the gold, but it died!
I used to have one at our old home, and it was a stunning rose. The Apple blossom Armandii is a beauty isn't it, I'll just be pleased to see some buds on my white one, fingers crossed....:o).

Lol Carole, now through that gate is one dusty murky greenhouse that needs someone (other than me) to clean it! Thanks fopr your lovely comment though....:o))

Thanks Dd....I wonder why your Tamarix hasn't grown? I pruned this one after flowering and thought I'd gone too far, but it's all come back again, a bit better shape now.

Amy and Dd....yes Tamarix should be fine in coastal areas, I wonder what type you both have? The main part of the trunk of mine is in the shade, but the head is in the sun. Yes Amy, mine is turning yellow now. I remember seeing lots of Tamarix trees lining the promenades in Spain, I wonder if its the damp here that does for them.

Thanks Aleyna, San and Moti....:o) X

I wish my bottom arch would get covered as well as your's. My climbing rose has been in 2 years and is only just half way up.

Which Rose is it Tog? I know that New Dawn is a fast grower, to the right is a white rambler Bobbie James, which I planted this Spring and already I've pruned the top off, really to thicken it out. I do feed them spring and summer, usually with tomato food I'm using on the tommies. I have found the container grown ones shoot up a lot more quickly than the bare rooted ones which take quite a while to establish themselves.
