I bought this rose in spring, before I joined goy and so glad I did as it has not stopped flowering all summer. So dont worry DD it will definately flower for you. There are quite a few people on Goy who rate this rose.

Poppy I assume you mean Dawn and not me lol as we have been growing this rose for two years now, and it is a marvellous rose I would rate it 10 any day.

It's so exciting getting new bare rooted roses :-) Also, to think my Rhapsody in Blue will flower next year too is just a bonus. Is it the same for all roses as I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of Canary Bird, Rosy Cushion, Ballerina, Magic Carpet and Wiltshire - do you think they will flower next year too?

Sorry DD, yes I did mean Dawn. I think shes been bitten by the rose bug! As have I, especially after seeing all your lovely ones.

15 Nov, 2011

Hi Poppy, yes, like you, I have the rose bug. Never been a big fan until I discovered members' shrub roses, patio roses and groundcover roses etc. etc. invaluable for repeat flowering. ;-) Do you intend getting more?

Dawn I love your choices of rose, I envy you the space to put them.....I would fill the garden with them if it was possible, just getting in to ground cover, have ordered Worcestershire (we used to live in the county) where did you send to for yours if you don't mind me asking, and have you used them before? so much cheaper to buy bare root, I could not believe it!!

Hi Dotty, I wanted the roses to give the colour they provide by repeat flowering. Worcestershire is a nice one, pity there isnt a Leicetershire one, we could both have one. I've ordered mine from Apuldram Roses in Chichester and no I've not ordered from them before. I went with them firstly as they had all the ones I wanted plus free delivery with an order of 10 or more (I ordered Comte de Chambord too to use as a small hedge), and the prices were quite good. I'll let you know the quality when they arrive.

I know Apauldram visited them many years ago, had a beautiful garden then, not bought from them, we have ordered from a local firm in Hampshire they were very reasonable and the postage was good, the big boys tend to want too much money.......if we want David Austin Roses it is cheaper to order it from our local GC than to send direct!!

I looked at Fryers too on Cristina's recommendation but they didnt have all the ones I wanted. I looked at David Austin but so expensive, I suppose the glossy brochure has to be paid for one way or another. Hope you get good plants from your local firm.

I will let you know Dawn, and will you do the same please, perhaps you could post a picture of all your roses when they arrive?
