I thought just the same, auricula.
I grew these several years ago but never noticed how lovely the flowers were, do you like the fruit Amy? my plants got huge and had so much fruit but nobody liked it, gave them away to a friend from the allotment who makes lots of jams and chutneys, never did ask what she made with them.

They are similar looking to an auricular ~ Sheila / Carole /Motty / Sandra , they are small only being about the size of a £2 coin ..
I liked the fruit of the one that ripened Kathy I think if they weren't quite ripe they would be sour , there's loads of fruit that will never ripen now it's to late ! did you leave your plants in over winter or did you have them out ? I don't know whether they are an annual or perennial I should look it up !

They're not hardy Amy think they can be overwintered somewhere frost free but so easy from seed hardly worth the bother, I didn't keep mine as no-one liked them.

Thanks Kathy ,I won't bother to try then I'll get some new seed !
They were unexpected Carol /Angela because they are a Physalis I thought they would look more like an orange Chinese Lantern ...... so a nice surprise !

You do Meanie you might have better luck with the fruit ! you wouldn't normally grow them for the flowers Sticki they are quite small , shame the fruit has taken so long to ripen !
