Ooh - never seen one of those! That's just lovely.

Thank you everyone. I love this one particularly as it is always one of the first to bloom!

If you laid down on the ground and photographed it from there...we could have seen the spots lol

Dotty, you know I have done that several times before! I might just try to capture it for you soon...once it's grown a bit more! Thank you Sticki, I know what you mean, it has a very 'art neauveau' shape to it.

I remembered it is an Ashwood Hybrid. Google it and you will find outlets online.

Beautiful flower Karen, they have never done well in this garden but I did have some lovelies in Wilby.

Perhaps there just isn't enough hummous in your clay there Annie....never mind. Next garden might be very different!

Yes you've seen some soil samples Karen, it amazes me that anything much grows here! The Wilby soil was wonderful but the garden had been used to grow veg for over a hundred years. I shall start viewing with a compass and soil testing kit ;O)

If it is an Ashwood Hybrid it has to be good, the best Nurseries in the the UK and run by the most knowledgeable and unassuming man I know.

Are they local to you then DD? If so, what a lovely place to have 'on hand'. Of course, I am not short of good places either, especially Glendoick of course, but I hardly ever get there these days as I have become quite lazy about driving anywhere further than about 5 miles away! lol.

Absolutely beautiful Karen.Say hallo to your mum for me.

Thanks Rose. She's on here a bit, but I think she has her computer in the coldest spot of the cottage. I have being trying to persuade her to get herself a laptop! :))

I agree, a lap top is much easier as you can take it round the house with you.Perhaps she'll start to take notice soon. I wouldn't have anything else.

Ah yes Rose, but then it would be a choice between saving up pennies, or spending them on plants and other goodies...and Mum and I are both genetically pre-disposed toward the latter I'm afraid! lol ;))
