Keep your hands off Mushy , I'll be watching you !!!
Dawn Snowball and fudge left after we saw some rats climbing up to the nesting box where they had layed their eggs we think the rats took the eggs , they left after that it was such a shame the fantails had been with us for almost two years , the rats were coming from the botton of the garden behind us where the owners had some chickens , we put traps down and haven't seen any since but it's to late the birds had gone :o( I don't know where they go in the summer ,strange that !

He is gorgeous Kat , it's amazing how they remember places from one year to the next ....they know who will feed them :o))

Yes, we often underestimate our animal partners on the Earth. Curious is, for instance, how parrots use correctly words they have learned. Yesterday I entered a pet shop and pink kakadu saluted "Good day" and when I turned to him with my back just looking for something on shelves, he said "Good bye". That was lovely :)

How wonderful is that Kat , makes you think doesn't ? it . I think animals are far cleverer than we give them credit for , I was watching a programme about it and they were showing how a monkey could actually work out positions of object in sequence much quicker than a human , they put it to the test and the monkey was always far quicker .....

I saw another film showing pair of birds, one was hit by car and evidently dead on the road. The other one was jumping around him, trying to move him off the road...that was moving.

You know, what I wanted to say - there are 2 types of intelligence - intellectual and emotional. The latter is thought to be quality of man. I do not think so, seeing all these. My female rabbit lived in the same wooden cage, although separately with a male rabbit. When he died beacuse of age, she did not eat for several days and stayed very lethargic.

That is so sad watching something like that ,you feel desperate to do something to help , I'm sure animals do respond and even suffer when a mate dies look at Elephants how they behave , we had a lovely old dog our daughter brought a guinnea pig over for us to look after when they were on holiday one year knowing it was ill and wouldn't last much longer .. our old dog didn't know anything about guinnea pigs but it knew it was ill and do you know he lay in the back porch for 3 days with that guinnea pig in between his front paws washing and looking after it . ..

That is so touching,Amy..I'm filling up here..what a lovely story...:o)

He was one in a million we still miss him , he made so many friends , he went 'walk about' one day ,we had a phone call from an industrial site office letting us know he was there at the same time saying please don't hurry to fetch him ,we love him , he knew when I was ill and would lay his head on my lap . he knew every word we said to him if we had friends round and I wispered to him " go and take his sock off" he would very gently do that ! much to the persons amazement . I could go on and on about him :o)

My brother lives in the USA and he once said, they say there in Tennessee, that "all dogs go to the heaven" :)

Funny thing is San he usually comes in for the winter much earlier than this perhaps the weather makes a difference ..he then goes out into the field for the summer ..
