My Little Front Garden

My Little Front Garden

Just finished giving the front garden a makeover as we had to have a big tree taken down as the roots were growing towards the house. Harry had to dig trenches across the lawn to saw out the remaining roots left in. We widened the borders and added a few more plants quite pleased with the finish and the lawn is as good as new now ;0)

16 Jun, 2012

Aww thanks Karen we live in a lovely valley surrounded by hills very lucky;0)

16 Jun, 2012

I like being in valleys myself. Some people like being on the top, on the moors, but I like being tucked away in a valley with lots of protection around me! :D

16 Jun, 2012

Me as well...always that couple of degrees warmer too..although you wouldn't think it,lately ! :o(

16 Jun, 2012

Oh Bloomer, it is really awful here today...rain, wind, cold...just like a winters day. I am really hoping it goes away soon....I don't know how much grumpier OH can possibly get! I remember midsummer nights past when we sat outdoors with a glass of wine and lit candles....I can't believe how awful these two summers have been.....sigh! I just really hope this isn't a permanent change, just a blip in our weather patterns.

16 Jun, 2012

I think it has been worse here so far, than last year ,Karen..but I know it was diabolical for you in Scotland...just so depressing, when you have your hopes, and looking foward to seeing everything doing well in the garden...I'm just glad I managed to stake or tie up ,things I thought might be damaged, yesterday. ..after hearing the forecast for today..all seems to be ok,if soggy ! ...

16 Jun, 2012

Yes Karen I remember those nights out in the garden with a glass of wine and candles, no chance this year as yet, more like winter woolies and raincoats;0(

Sandra glad you got your plants staked in time , I did too, what about that downpour around 8 this evening the drive was filling up with water as you know it slopes down to the frort door, a narrow escape and a bit scary to say the least, pity those people who have been flooded, how dreadful must that be !

16 Jun, 2012

aww this is the exact style im going for for my front p.p simple layout with lots colour and texture! love it!! :)

17 Jun, 2012

17 Jun, 2012

What a beautiful front garden Carole, gorgeous colours blending there...what is the little standard tree?

17 Jun, 2012

Thanks Janey the little standard is Euonymus Golden King I have three of these, they are 11years old now, and although they suffer with the frost in severe winters they aslways bounce back as good as new!
