I have this too, and it grew so well last year I needed to prune it. The official advice was to cut it hard back in late winter which I did...but sadly it has taken until now to even begin to recover. However, it is growing! I need to remember that up here we 'never' prune stuff so hard as down south!

Thanks kat /Carole / Karen I haven't pruned this at all it kept a good shape through the winter , I'm not going to prune it unless it looks to be absolutely necessary ...

Yes, I would agree. Mine were massive last year, really big. I had three planted together in the gravel at the front. I took one away completely and pruned the other two hard back. I think if I'd pruned them less hard they would have been absolutely fine. They are recovering....sloooooowly! :D It's a beautiful thing. I remember last year the wind flattening mine and ruining the shape :(

This is so pretty, I am intrigued that its name means hairy? and found it is also called Hairy Canary Clover, yet its a sub shrub. Is it easy to grow?
