Lovely Amy! They really are stunning this year, I think Simbad said Banana custard. They don't seem to mind the rain either do they...:))

Thanks Angela I love the height of them , Thanks Janey I've changed my mind about them since they have flowered I wasn't sure before when they were all leaf ,I like them now I will change the name to custard :o)

I like this what a lovely plant.
6 Jul, 2012
It's a beauty Carol , I will try to save some seed from it if you would like some ?
6 Jul, 2012
That would be nice thanks
6 Jul, 2012
I'll write it down so that I don't forget it later in the year Carol :o)
6 Jul, 2012
Thanks Amy those sweetpeas you sent me last year are starting to get tallish, think we need some nice weather for them.
6 Jul, 2012
And they have so many side flowering shoots Amy, mine are still smiling through the rain. Hope you're okay down there in Norfolk, it did look to be especially bad for you.....:((
6 Jul, 2012
Jane its really bad up here, were where on amber alert, with loads of flood warnings in place.
6 Jul, 2012
It has been bad Janey apparently the roads have been flooded enough to course waves locally, our gravel garden was under water earlier ,we have a slight slope leading down to us you would hardly notice it normally , when it rains it runs down to us then into the drive we have to put wellies on to go up the drive at times like this .. AH Ha this sun is shimmering through ,lets get outside to see if there's been any damage , broken plants etc. !
6 Jul, 2012
Crikey Carol.....you keep safe and dry, wonder what it's like on sea front?::((
Oh Amy, isn't it heartbreaking, but you have the sun now, I don't think we'll be seeing any today, I've taken Lottie for a walk...she looks so cute in her little raincoat. Ians having a kip, he was up at 4.30 diverting the water off the kitchen roof, it's been coming in when it rains heavily....:((
6 Jul, 2012
Ah I can imagine Lottie in her little rain coat .. Poor Ian he must be tired out he could do without that kind of work , it sounds like another job waiting to be done it never ends does it Janey ?
I hope you aren't near any rivers Carol , take care !
6 Jul, 2012
That looks so striking Amy!
Janey sent me a "Snow Maiden" which is just starting to bud , will put on a picture when it flowers, its my first Verbascum!
6 Jul, 2012
You will be pleased with that Carole it's a very nice one ,I shall look forward to seeing your picture :o) ..
6 Jul, 2012
Mmmm now did I send you two Janey? because this looks more like 'Snow Maiden' , Banana Custard is yellow,I put a close up picture of it on the other day :-))
7 Jul, 2012
Janey did say the seed came from you Kathy ,This is quite a creamy primrose colour , Hm ! Looks as if I shall have to change the name ,I will have another look at your Snow maiden , Thanks Kathy x
7 Jul, 2012
Kathy, you did send me seeds of Snow Maiden, which I thought would be White, do you remember saying you maybe had got mixed up between Snow Maiden and Banana custard.....well with mine being like Amys, I thought it must be BC, sorry girls this is Snow Maiden all along!
7 Jul, 2012
I'm happy with it whatever it is girls , I've changed it's name to ' Snow Maiden ' but think it's colour is more Banana than snow LOL
8 Jul, 2012
I think I do remember now Janey, I did grow them near each other the first year, ooops :-), yes this is definitely 'Snow Maiden', did you get any 'Banana Custard' then or did I send you 2 lots of this one ? I can save you seed of 'Banana Custard' if I did :-))))
8 Jul, 2012
Agree Amy it looks like banana without the custard, lol.
8 Jul, 2012
LOL it's still pouring with rain ,we are meeting friends to look round an NGS garden laid out by Gertrude Jekyell on the coast ,I've put my wellies in the car :o( ....
8 Jul, 2012
That's exactly it Kathy!.....I'm happy with these they are such tall beauties, only wish I had space for more Kathy....:))
That sounds to be a great place to visit Amy.....have a lovely day, even in the rain......shall we see pics later?.....:)))
8 Jul, 2012
No Pics Janey , it was pouring with rain and apart from that it was a waste of time , goodness knows how that garden got into the NGS book it was nothing except a large lawn with a few old trees and some border plants which looked to have been put in very recently apparently it's a work in progress and the gardener had left them some time ago ,the people that did turn up were allowed in free of charge :o(
9 Jul, 2012
Ooer.....on a wet day too.....:0((
9 Jul, 2012
A very pretty one, shame about the garden, you should complain if they are not up to standard, otherwise the NGS will get a bad name.
10 Jul, 2012
We gave them the benefit of the doubt Angela seeing as they had lost their gardener while undertaking the work that needed to be done I suppose it was to late to pull out once it went into the book it will be interesting to see if it is still in the book next year ...
