Thanks, yes she has a large garden, but has a gardener now as she can't manage it herself.

Does she find it frustrating having to have the gardener in now or is she ok with taking a bit of a back seat and just enjoying the results?

I think she would like to be doing it herself, but health problems have forced the issue.

I hope my bottlebrush looks like this again, it's old and a lot of it had died back, so I was really pleased when the first flower appeared a few days ago! Hers is beautiful :o)

Yes I used to have one, but lost it through the winter two years ago, or so I thought, but there are one or two shoots coming from the base now, although I cut it right back when I thought it had died.

I think mine must've suffered that winter too but didn't get cut back. I wasn't living here then so only had someone cut it back a bit for me a few weeks ago. It has lots of new shoots coming from the base and a few coming from older branches higher up, and that's where the flowers are now appearing from. Let's hope they can both re-grow and look good again :o)
