I love the contrast in colour. The leaf colour is so lovely & that yellow is less vivid than many other yellow flowers .....I have never been a great fan of yellow, but I like the more muted or muddy-yellows as I call them.

I love the scent too and so architectural. I walked past a lovely one today, not quite open but full of promise!

I need to dig a new flower/shrub bed!!
Such a pity that the digging new flower beds job here isn't like cutting into loam. I have 8" of soil then layer after layer of limestone!

Come to think of it..I would also like to plant a Tamarisk, a Rheuss and lots more dogwood!
