No - a white one! We have purple for the 1st, 2nd and 4th Sundays, a pink for the 3rd Sunday ("Gaudete" or "Rejoice" Sunday) and a white one for Christmas Day.

There are several traditions. Ours (not "ours" in the personal sense) reflects the colour of the vestments in church on those Sundays. (Although "rose" is the correct description of the pink vestments!)

Melchi, are you Catholic? As they usually have different colours in the church reflecting religious holidays. I am Protestant and we always use only white wax candles.

Yes, Katarina, I am. When I was a child, I rarely saw an Advent Wreath in church at all, but I am glad they seem to be more usual now, because I think it is a lovely tradition. I make the one we have at our church - I gather all the material from my garden, which makes it very special, and makes me feel very privileged.
