Peach Blossom

Do you get good fruit from the tree ?
My fruiting cherry is just about to blossom ; there were quite a few fruit last year ..... and then they disappeared !
The birds managed to get through the nets , and we had about six for ourselves !

Julia we have delicious Peaches ,honestly they are far nicer and sweeter than the shop bought ones ... isn't that annoying when the birds steal your fruit we have the same problem with our Raspberries we have them in a fruit cage but the birds still get in and are often trapped we are forever freeing them also the squirrels rip the nets to get in they eat the strawberries to , sometimes you wonder if it's worth it but we know it is ! Thanks Angela I'm keeping the fleece down at night to protect the blossom ....

That's lovely, I always wanted a litttle peach tree, but worry about peach leaf curl which I've see even on ones for sale in garden centres. How do you keep disease at bay Amy?:-)

Thank you , you keep them to the size you have available Carole , our tree spreads approx 6ft x 6ft we have it in a frame BG the frame extends about 1ft forwards with a clear glass shower door as it's top/lid the sides are slatted wood we have fleece tagged along the top which we draw down at nights to prevent frost damage ,the thing you have to remember about leaf peach curl is to not let the rain touch any part of the leaves we haven't had any problems the shower door above the tree stops the rain touching it ...

LOL .. well it works BG .. the fruit is delicious far sweeter and juicer than shop bought ones :-)
